With southend playing barrow and colchester I can seem them catching them/ us up if we don't put points on the board.

What’s prompted the change of mind?

So do I, but I also think we will finish no better than 21st.bellwhiff wrote:lifestags wrote:I think if Southend and Grimsby lose on Sat then we will be safe, even if we lose.
I think we are already safe mate

That doesn’t bother me. Staying up is all that matters

Oh, perfect now I've lunged straight back into paranoid worry.
Been a few weeks so suppose I was overdue!

Yes I think a lot of us remember the one point scenario. For me the home game against Stevenage was were it went horribly wrong. They had Chair on loan that day and for me he was the difference between both sides. Sometimes these things have symmetry. So maybe a win at Stevenage is on the cards and will makeus safe. Here's hoping.Birminghamstag10 wrote:HitchcocksShins wrote:Birminghamstag10 wrote:a few seasons ago, auto promotion looked nailed on at this stage of the season! Ha! In all seriousness, my head is saying we're ok. Maybe it's my heart that harks back to the other season when we needed 1 point from our last 3 games to go up!
It would take (better than) promotion form from the bottom two and us to not pick else anything up in our last 5. Yes it can happen, but based on recent past, we've enough to get a point here and there and the bottom two don't look they've got it in them to get '12 from 15 points' sort of form...
Are Salford the only one of our opponents with anything to play for? Even by the time we play them, their playoffs dreams may have died too.
It's making the end of the season more interesting though!
That's if they are targeting us which they won't be now. If Southend target Colchester and win their game against them then they are only 1 point behind 22nd. They need to get two more points than Colchester in four games and have better form than Grimsby.MTFCMusings wrote:lifestags wrote:Anyone care to offer any reassurance that we aren't going to get relegated? Both sides can only afford one game out of their last 5 and 6 respectively that they don’t win. That’s assuming we only do as well as our worst 6 game period of the seasons (2 more pts). It would require a run which neither team has produced more than once or twice all season.
