I’m surprised the Scunny manager has made it through the season. Will see if the chairman’s patience pays off next season.

Morecambe now 3-0 up. Scunthorpe have been embarrassing at the back, with Taft joining the party as well, gifting a chance to the home side which was missed.

HT: Morecambe 2 Scunthorpe United 0
A good 1st half for Morecambe and two assists for John O'Sullivan. He intercepted a ball in the 25th minute and played a one two with Cole Stockton before Stockton smashed it in the top corner from the edge of the area. O'Sullivan then played a ball forward to Carlos Mendes Gomes on 37 minutes who beat Jacob Bedeau with his first touch before shooting past Ryan Watson to make it 2-0.

Scunthorpe have gone closest to scoring from corners when the sun has been in Morecambe keeper Kyle Letheren's eyes. They ought to have scored from one of them as the ball dropped straight in front of goal. Scunthorpe right back, Teddy Howe, has been subbed after luckily escaping a second yellow card. Derek Adams was not happy bellowing "Referee!! It's all your fault."

Morecambe 4-0 Scunthorpe. 60 minutes gone. Scunthorpe have been astonishly bad at the back.

FT Morecambe 4-1 Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe were absymal at the back, gifting Morecambe numerous gilt-edged chances.

Only Gilliead impressed for Scunthorpe, keeping going in midfield.

Imagine if we'd given GC a few more weeks to try and turn it around. Could be a lot worse right now

FT: Morecambe 4 Scunthorpe United 1
Morecambe added to their 2-0 half time lead when Sam Lavelle headed in John O'Sullivan's corner for a hat-trick of assists for John O'Sullivan. Aaron Wildig then took a quick free kick down the side for Carlos Mendes Gomes to slide it across goal for Yann Songoo to make it 4-0. Alfie Beestin scored a late consolation goal for Scunthorpe.

Glasgow Rangers are apparently interested in signing Carlos Mendes Gomes.

Morecambe MOM: John O'Sullivan

The Stags should be able to beat Scunthorpe if we can cut out the silly mistakes.

Should, could... nailed on for another draw Darren I reckon. I've seen more killer instinct in a cold rice pudding.
