That's a good question. We've not seen many of them this season. We must be saving them for next season. :D

Every week that goes by where Grimsby and Southend dont win is a week closer to safety for us. Their task gets greater and greater, and the pressure mounts.
Thank goodness they are as pants as us. We really shouldn't be thinking like that, but it does bring comfort.

I know what you mean and it's sad we see the season like this. Really poor division on the whole and we are down there amongst the worst of them.

Grimsby Town 1 Cheltenham Town 1

Grimsby started really well and won 5 corners in the first 16 minutes. They were rewarded in the 9th minute. Luke Hendrie punted a ball forward to James Hanson in the right side of the area. Will Boyle shoved Hanson in the back for a penalty shout but Hanson hooked the ball to Stefan Payne who beat Ben Tozer and put the ball across goal for the unmarked Lenell John Lewis to tap it in. Sean Long and Matty Blair failed to pick up John-Lewis.

Cheltenham didn't really get into the game until the 26th minute when James McKeown had to push a Chris Hussey shot away. Cheltenham started to cause havoc with Ben Tozer's long throws and Will Boyle headed the second one in for the equalizer. Will Boyle has now scored 6 league goals and most have come direct from Tozer's long throws. Paul Hurst did not think the Grimsby defence did a lot wrong but I thought Boyle nudged Rollin Menayese just as the throw came in to put Menayese off balance and to win the header.

Will Boyle scored a second goal beating James Hanson in the air at the far post to head home Hussey's corner but the ref gave a foul. It looked a good goal to me. James McKeown made another good save when Sam Smith was clean through on goal after a great ball by Liam Sercombe. Cheltenham keeper, Josh Griffiths then miskicked a back pass from Matty Blair straight to Sam Habergham but the Robins scrambled the ball away. HT: 1-1

Cheltenham were the better team in the 2nd half and continued to cause havoc with long throws (ten in total) and set pieces. Sam Smith flicked on another long throw from Tozer and Will Boyle's header was tipped over the bar by McKeown at point blank range. McKeown then scooped a Liam Sercombe free kick off the line with Cheltenham claiming it had gone over. Another long throw was headed just over the bar by Menayese and Smith had another good chance to score with a header from another Sercombe cross.

James Hanson did manage to break clear of the Cheltenham defence in the 63rd minute but he shot straight into the sidenetting. George Lloyd was also clean through on goal for Cheltenham after a quadruple substitution by Michael Duff but he shot horribly wide from a great position. Another Cheltenham sub, Andy Williams, smashed a great first time shot from the edge of the area which beat McKeown but it hit the inside of the post and bounced away.

Matt Green came on as a 85th minute sub for the Mariners and had a great chance to win the game in the 93rd minute after Josh Griffiths slipped up taking a goal kick. He kicked the ball straight to James Hanson who headed it forward to Matt Green who had Griffiths running out of the penalty area towards him. Greeny tried to get the ball over Griffiths but it hit Griffiths' shoulder. Grimsby thought that Griffiths had handled the ball but the ref played on.

A good point for Cheltenham and Grimsby's 8 match unbeaten run continues but their record is P8 W1 D7 L0. They badly needed a win and travel to Bradford City next Saturday.

Grimsby MOM: James McKeown and James Hanson
Cheltenham MOM: Will Boyle and Liam Sercombe
