Looking at the table today it’s relatively comfortable reading in terms of expectancy to stay up, but if there’s a 3 point swing in Southend’s favour this weekend then I wouldn’t be of the same thinking. A 6 point gap , albeit with a superior goal difference, with 7 to play would be uncomfortable so this weekends game is a big one. Agree that a further 5/6 points should see us out of harms way, I’d just rather it be sooner rather than later!

Think we're already safe personally. Despite our dodgy run of late, Grimsby and Southend only 1 point better off than us over the last 8 games, so to catch up 10 points on us over the last 8 games, plus Grimsby needing to also win their game in hand, is highly unlikely. Wouldn't turn down 3 points tomorrow just to be sure though of course!

With a few players returning to full fitness, our Nigel has to make some hard choices in midfield today. This is my thoughts on what will be his choice of the starting 11 at 3pm.

This gives Charlsley a rest he desperately needs but is very, very harsh on Law. Who’d be a manager?

Charsley has to come out for either Lapslie or Clarke. That will probably be the only change as we don’t tend to make many.

If we were to make more changes, I wouldn’t mind seeing a diamond in midfield and Law playing off Bowery up top with Reid dropping out. That could allow us to get Clarke & Lapslie both back in providing we are confident enough they’re both ready. Unlikely.
