we really don’t have a single option up front wow
11 teams have scored more than us. 16 teams have conceded less.
The options up front aren't as big a problem aa the daft goals we give away.

he felt his thigh during the warm-up at Harrogate. Clough said he hoped he would be ready for the Crawley game.

cheers Marty
might actually see the enigma that is Oliver Sarkic kick a ball for us then, also be nice to give one of the front two a rest

They are both big problems that have contributed to stop our play off challenge.

He got 18 minutes at Warsaw.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

That’s as maybe but it’s not relevant to his question about the fitness of a player who came in and has been hobbled almost since day 1

I'm more concerned about our defence than attackers personally. I know we're light up top, but we do have other players that chip in with goals.
Defensively we've been been pretty poor this season with individual mistakes

Once again I get that. It’s not relevant to this thread though

I believe Sarkic has been brought in as cover not a improvement upfront, having seen Sarkic play he is 6 foot very skilful and leaves you frustrated, with his build you would expect a Cooke with technical skills, but aggression seem lacking, being injured this can easily happen in training, and with his lack of game time he was always going to play catch up.
He is now another year older, and Clough brought him here to do a job, and with his time at Blackpool under his belt, i hope Aggression will be part of his game, if so could be some player
like everyone looking forward to what he brings to the table, but willing to be proved wrong, Clough does that to me a lot

Done a quick Google search for injuries at Blackpool and he was injured with a hamstring issue in Oct 2019 and an injury at the start of this season.
Also saw on
https://wwww.fansnetwork.co.uk/football ... Eo4d1Onzqt thst he has had niggling injuries.
Maybe Clough took him on the allow him to prove his fitness. If it's hamstring again then that could be down to training on 4g when we had the bad weather.
It's entirely possible it's just bad timing. It's also possible he injury prone.
He also came on after 90 minutes against Cambridge, which was 3 weeks ago this Saturday. The Walsall game is the game Lapslie was injured in as well and he got a cameo the other day that was 4 weeks after he went off injured. He wasn't great but did OK.
I'm sure he will be back on the bench soon and maybe get a chance to show what he can do.

This bloke really must be the most pointless loan signing ever!!
was he ever fit, he must have past a fitness test / medical when we signed him

I think your right, similar to the young lad Coughlin signed on loan, was it Jack Evans from Swansea I think. He never even made it to the bench while he was here.

Cloughie said he wouldn't bring players in for the sake of it, well I think he did with Sarkic.
His record wasn't great before coming to us, and injury prone.. Very poor signing on the whole.

What's wrong with his record before he got here? It's perfectly reasonable.

Probably because he doesn't score 20 a season

I’m a big believer that injuries are less about bad luck and more about players not being properly conditioned.
Sarkic has come in after not playing many games this season and not having a proper pre-season so it might be that he wasn’t properly match fit.
It’s a shame if we don’t see much of him before the season ends because based on his record at Burton and the clips of his goals, he is probably the kind of player we are missing

He has only scored 3 goals in England , for Burton, 28 games. Maybe Cloughie got mixed up, meant to sign his brother at Wolves

You do realise a medical can not predict players getting injured. He was fit when we signed him and unfortunately got injured after he signed. It happens in football.

Sarkic has been unlucky.Injuries happen look at Lapslie. No player wishes to get an injury unfortunately for us we have no cover up front,If Reid and Bowery get injured then we are in trouble.Clough gambled getting rid of Maynard and Cook .We hopefully will just stay up.

He was brought in for competition for Bowrey and Reid which was needed... hardly for the sake of it.
