why do numbers matter... Maynard has done nothing all season, what good is it having an extra player on the books taking up a wage if they're of no use?
We won't go down this year and its a good chance to have a look at this lad, save money and prepare for next season.
Because injuries.
Cant see all three or even two getting injured... were safe give the kids a chance if needed

Sarkic came on as sub at half time in the EFL Trophy game for Burton against us last season.
Only Sweeney from the current Stags side played in that game (though some others were on the bench).

Clough knows what he wants and neither Cook or Maynard (when fit) were his first team choices furthermore we have been winning without them.
If Sarkic can play out wide and is considered to be a striker I can see him fitting in down the right and doing a similar job to what Bowery does down the left, maybe at the expense of Charsley?
This obsession of a proven 20+ goal a season striker doesn't appear to be Clough's priority, if it was he would have built an attacking force around Maynard, he obviously rates the potential, youth and work rate of Reid.

This lad could end up being a very shrewd signing... reading through various reports he’s technically very good, perhaps better than L2 but only excelled under Clough, not done a lot since leaving Burton.
If Clough can work his magic with him again we could have a top player on our hands, he’s never played at L2 level as we’ll always L1 and higher

Not been the best of windows for me either. I've constantly harped on that Akins will be here. I thought it was done.
The fact they pit the deal sheet in for Ollie at 22.55 shows they went to the wire with Akins and Brayford and it wasn't down to our Chairman that they didn't get done, the funds were there.
I know Burton have to look after themselves but this has left a bit of a sour taste for me. I hope Akins plays in the majority of their games but JFH signed 9 or 10 players and it was him who blocked the move.
Sometimes the right thing to do is let a good club servant leave and if Lucas is now left kicking his heals it's a poor way to treat someone who has given his all in a Brewers shirt.
Not sure we'll hear much from Nigel on it as he rarely discusses specific targets we miss out on but expect he'll be very unhappy at how this has played out.
But we have a poster who’s said he’s signed and it will be announced later
That poster has got less things right than private dunno

Intriguing signing this. We've seen Nige elevate our players potential & get the most out of them, so I'm fairly sure Ollie won't rest on his Laurels
Fairly confident this lad will be a pleasant surprise for us, if he can settle in and apply himself
If i look in pain it's because i'm thinking

In fairness to Burton, if they couldn't sign Akins replacement (Exeter's Bowman was mentioned on here ) then it's understandable they didn't let him go. At least Nigel Clough had a credible back up plan.

what a quality addition to the squad this lad is !
if we were ever crying out for an option up front it’s now, & he’s never available
Blackpool must be laughing their socks off, really disappointing signing he’s turning out to be so far !
Reid & Bowery or ...........nobody

He’s injured!
Do you want him limping around the pitch on one leg?

I'll wait for the inevitable
"didn't he do a fitness test before signing?"
"why do we always sign crocks?"

This has got to be a Stags first. Hardly kicked a ball for us and his ability is being questioned.
Injuries happen.

We know we're short up top, everyone does. Our only forward options are Bowery, Reid, Sarkic and Caine I would imagine. If we were in the relegation zone, I'd be cacking my pants. We'll be fine, I'm sure we'll sign a good few forwards in the summer when Cook and Maynard leave.
