His record wasn't great before coming to us, and injury prone.. Very poor signing on the whole.

He was brought in for competition for Bowrey and Reid which was needed... hardly for the sake of it.

what a crackin choice that was

Football is an unpredictable game as we all know, and we do seem to be unlucky with injuries. It's not like he got himself injured on purpose or signed and knew he was going to be injured. These things happen.

Seasons nearly over anyway and we will be fine with Reid and Bowery until the summer.

They did plan, they planned that Cook and Maynard were too expensive and we had enough to stay in the league.

I bet pound for pound Davies and Bradley cost us much more as we paid fees to bring them in

I'd like to know how much Davies cost us in wages whilst here. I would imagine it's a hell of a lot more than what we will pay for Sarkic.

Did we pay a transfer fee for Davies?

Good job we didn't sign him permanently for a fee then ! Remember Iffy Onoura ? Footballers want to play they don't like being injured. My bet is Sarkic is absolutely gutted he can't play and try and earn a contract. I hope he's not reading this.

for what it's worth Sarkic is under contract at Blackpool next season I believe so wouldn't be a free agent.

I would assume so since he was injured playing for us.

But

absolutely. I bet Yorkshire things Sarkic is sat on his arse doing a Dr Evil laugh whilst throwing notes around the room, he will be gutted he's not playing as is the case when footballers can't do their job.

Roddy Collins?? He who scored two against Doncaster in a night match (if memory serves me right) and was the cause of the Chad headline ‘When Irish Eyes Are Smiling’.

Other than that he was complete ‘pony and trap’.

------------------------

Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Nottingham (video available on iFollow):

"Oli Sarkic is out for the season. His hamstring injury is much worse than we first feared. He's gone back to Blackpool.
"It was touch and go whether he's going to need an operation on it. It was very close to a ruptured hamstring rather than a normal strain.
"He'll be 12 weeks plus. And he's got to get himself ready for pre-season. It's a big blow for him and obviously a blow for us as well.
"It's a shame we're not going to be able to see more of him."

"Nathan Caine was another we talked about getting involved in January. But he's been injured with his ankle ever since. So that's another blow in the forward area."

don’t give a rats bum what he’s doing, it’s the fact he was our only striker option apart from our two & we have nothing else at the club to change it, that’s really really poor

Shows you just how good a job Clough has done then, doesn't it?

What's really really poor is not winning a bloody game until december. We've got 8 games of the season left with two strikers, we'll manage.

If we had just come out of the summer transfer window with just two strikers, I'd agree but that isn't the case. Also this season, we've improved with goals from midfield with Clarke, Lapslie, Charsley and Quinn at the weekend. They take the burden off our strikers. I'm sure Nigel will improve us at both ends of the pitch in the summer.

Don't forget we were on a 5 match win streak in the transfer window, I like many thought Bowery and Reid had made the grade. So sarkic and Caine seemed a reasonable back up if needed.

We haven’t just got the two strikers. Law & Sinclair could do some damage up front and don’t forget our secret weapon Ryan Sweeney ;)
