We'd be so far adrift had he stayed on till Jan... I still cant work out why he kept playing the same system/ players every match stood watching it not work.

I agree, I think Coops did a good job as caretaker, he changed the system to suit the players and they responded. Clough taking over then proved we have some decent players Coughlan was just draining them of spirit by the sound of things? Good to see players playing for the shirt and having a smile on their face while they do it. Safety the priority this year as the squad is clearly unbalanced and had too much of a deficit to make up when Clough came in.

Using that calculator and have us win every game has us finishing 5th. So play offs are still possible.

However if we loses every game we are relegated by 1 point. Repeated it again and we finish 22ns 3 points ahead of the team in 23rd.

I don't think either scenario will happen. Would be nice if the first one did.

We don’t need 50 points to stay up.

In honesty, I take more enjoyment seeing county down there than chesterfield.

How can the EFL allow promotion & relegation between L2 & Conference when the competition hasn't been completed properly?

Spot on Dan. Either or both could achieve promotion especially when the league is levelled up iro Dover's results. Currently Notts have hit a bad patch and Cheaterfield are on an impressive run.

The National league is halfway through its season now mate and the EFL have said that promotion and relegation will be the same as usual. I can see the Spireites going up if I’m honest.

Sutton and Hartlepool promoted. Chesterfield to make play offs. Clownty mid table and Ardley a clue to be sacked.

I can see Dover being thrown out soon (re: Conf National) due to their their backlog of fixtures. Promotion race wide open as I see it

They'd do it with the safety net of no relegation plus taxpayers money, furlough scheme. Half the league quitting and almost going bankrupt.

Barnet have also virtually written their season off. They are making no attempt to put out a competative side which puts the side who played them early in the season at a disadvantage.

Current Table

PLD..W..D...L...PTS
.39...9..17..13..44

Required for 50 points (although one more win would probable be enough to stay up)

PLD..W..D...L..PTS
.7.....2..0...5....6
.7.....1..3...3....6
.7.....0..6...1....6

What a shockingly poor season when we're still scraping around to reach 50 points!

Stags season in 3 parts,

Graham Coughlan / RC temp

PLD..W..D..L..PTS
.11...0..7..4...7

Nigel Clough (new manager bounce)

PLD..W..D..L..PTS
.14...7..5..2...26

Nigel Clough (limping towards 50 points)

PLD..W..D..L..PTS
.14...2..5..7...11

The new manager bounce period looks like it's going to keep Stags up this season, away from the dreaded non-league.

Stags points per game combined in parts 1 & 3, PLD 25 PTS 18 is a shocking PPG 0.72, bottom of the league Grimsby's PPG is 0.87.

Based on teams current form, Grimsby will finish bottom of League with 42 points with Southend or Colchester too close to call with about 43/44 points.

Roll on a mass player clear out and a season in the top 7.

Dread to think where we’d have been had we not got clough in when we did, we’d have been down with coughlan by now.

To get as far away from the relegation zone we have with this team is quite some achievement. Can’t wait for this season to end.

Heartily agree. GC has hamstrung the club putting some of these duds on two year contracts.

At the minute 57 pts is the maximum second bottom can get and it is coming down every game.

We gift them a corner. But they gift it us back and Quinn is fouled when he would have been through.
