Benning looked to be an improvement over McLaughlin... That’s all I’ve got.

I'm afraid he didn't George

Don't think he was any worse than any of the others

I would agree but saw enough to be optimistic that he will be kept on next year.
Harrogate are not necessarily the team to put kids up against

Not every player comes into the squad for debut and runs the show.

He needed support from his teammates and they put in a lackluster performance.

From what I saw he did no worse than the 1st team regulars alongside him. He played in the hole behind Reid with Charsley and Bowery either side of him. Anyone else ever seen him play there before? I don't think I have. He was moved out left when Gordon came on and we changed shape, he then got 18 minutes on the left wing before being subbed himself.

Considering all that I thought he did OK and shouldn't be written off just yet.

Agreed, don't think he did any worse than any of the other senior members around him who have played a lot more games..

Id bet we'd probably do better with a team of kids giving their all than some of these pros on two year deals that don't seem bothered. Once were safe id love us to play more of them. Is it crewe that usually play the last game of the season with an 11 from the academy?
