I can see he’s a decent player but I think the midfield hasn’t looked as good since his arrival IMO. We had a good balance with Maris deep and Clarke and Laps pushing on but now Reid and Bowery look more isolated as Quinn sits deeper and hasn’t the legs to get up and down the pitch.

Maris & Clarke were decent today
Id love to see some fresh legs, gone from 5 wins in a row to no wins in 5 is it? pretty quickly.
Missing Lapslie and Gordon.
Can't argue with any of them changes.
Totally agree.
We're paying the price of not making one of those in each of the last few ganes, either from the start or off the bench. No need to panic, NC will now have a better view of what's needed in the summer.

I think the pitch is having a bigger effect on us than most understand.
It’s no coincidence that we are struggling in all areas of the pitch at home but seem better away. Free flowing football is just impossible and we are resorting to longer higher balls which doesn’t suit our style or squad. It’s also draining our players again making our play slower.
I know it’s the same for both teams but we have a disastrous surface every other match to contend with.
We just need to limp to the end of the season and then get the pitch bottomed as a higher priority than new players.
Hello! Hello! We are the North Stand Boys.

They were right, also right about lack of attention paid to the pitch over the Summer.

Cambridge didn't have to be anything great today to win. We've lost two players to injury, who were completely pivotal to the balance and goalscoring of the team, and now, due to the paucity of players available, are using players, out of position, in a sticky plaster situation, until we can get them back.
I just can't understand the attitude that some have on here,
that we are already safe, and these games are for experimentation. Far from it.

We do not have the players to play the formation he wants and the better teams have and will find us out.
NC clearly has his favourites and the squad depth as we all know is not good enough.
Personally, I am still not overly impressed with NC but can see thankfully that results have lifted us up the table and away from the drop zone (we need to sat there too)
bless, were you expecting us to be top 3 by now?
No, not at all.
NC just doesn't impress me.....never has.
He has my full backing though because he is manager of my beloved club !

Surely he's impressed you more than the last two managers. At least we have a fighting chance of getting the required number of points to stay up. Had we kept either of the other two we would be at the bottom like Grimsby. Glass half full and all that.

Let’s be honest, our good form always felt fragile.
That second half was shocking, and our lack of squad depth is going to leave Clough with little options.

I think he will.
Arguably this is the first time we've looked really poor at the back and changes are justified.
Thought Perch was having a poor first half but still didn't see us losing 3-0. Tbe defending was abysmal no matter how much the ball was being held up by the wind.
Back down to earth with a bang these last 2 games, although to be fair Cambridge played really well in spells, we couldn't handle Mullin or Ironside and Hoolahan really does use the ball brilliantly.
I hope Law starts on Tuesday, I think his cameo deserves it. I don't think the midfield played badly but maybe rest Quinn and give Jason a chance.
Broomo, any idea why Cloughy is playing Quinn as a link between the midfield and the attack? All my knowledge of him is as a deeper midfielder. If he sat deeper, where he should be, perhaps he wouldn’t have to come off in every game.
Erm ask the manager ,just saying

Whilst we won’t get there, we’re still closer to the play-offs point wise than we are the relegation zone.
Two losses in a row conceding 6 goals in the process is always going to feel bad, but had they came in the middle of our good run rather than now I don’t think anyone would’ve been too worried.
We’ll get back on track, but may suffer some more in the short term.

Because Maris started to play well in defensive midfield and probably didn’t think he could take him out there while the team were performing. Both haven’t got the legs to play in the other centre midfield spots.

6 goals conceded at home in 100 minutes and barely a shot of note on target from us in that time

It seems that Lapslie was the main reason for our good spell of form. Without him we look a bit rudimentary. There's no guile, and nobody seems to anticipate opposition attacks.
