Curle lost his 2 best players after play off win didn't he, Charlie Goode and Nicky Adams. Tisdale and Exeter were a good match, since he left them he struggled, bit like when Jones left Luton, he seems ok again back at Luton.

I've never been a fan of Keith Curle, however it seems harsh that he's been given the push so soon after last seasons promotion.

Sorry Yorkshire stag. I get your drift as the penny has now dropped.
I've got to say Rob seems a good judge when it comes to managers. :D

Northampton chairman says Curle sacked because team have not scored enough goals.

They might have been lucky to scape into play offs. But they played good stuff in the 3 play off games.

Very harsh on Curle. Their promotion last season was a complete overachievement, not only of their squad but of the underlying numbers, so it’s hardly surprising they’ve struggled.

Tisdale is not a quick fix manager, he’s a long term guy. To give him a couple of months is ridiculous.

Never took to Curle. He was difficult to listen to when interviewed.Northampton were not one of the best sides in league 2 but played well to win the playoffs.A lot of fans wanted Tisdale here.He did well at Exeter and I thought he would have done well at Bristol.Football is a results based business and that is why they have been sacked.Pretty sure if we had got a few more points under Coughlan he would still be here.Glad in a way we didn't.

Will Graham Coughlan be a candidate for the Bristol Rovers job ? It will depend on whether their board thinks his previous good run with them was inspired or a bit of good luck.

Message received last night from a Cobblers fan.

Good riddance - if we hadnt turned into barcelona for two games in the summer he'd have been long gone by now. The football has been dire, and i think if the fans had been in grounds he'd have been lynched

I remember when we played them away under Flitcroft I think it was, they just came to kick lumps out of us I'm sure with very little football on show.

He firstly got them in the play-off positions when the season was suspended, then secondly won the play-offs in style which was over achieving (majority view?)
Curle was a success and ultimately Flitcroft wasn't when he failed to achieve promotion, the flip side was that it was bloody enjoyable to go to games at the time as backed up by crowd numbers.
What more could Curle do last season??? He improved from the previous poor season and got them up.
This season has been a strange one so he has been sacked due to his league position (lack of goals is bullsh@@, Sheff Utd scored 1 last night and Tottenham 4, who is the happiest?).
Over achieving last season brought a new pressure (this is often the case and can be short sightedness by owners)
If he had finished 8th last season and had them in or around the same position this season then I am sure he would still be employed.

Northamton town have been on a management merry go round and in the last, 4 years, 1 month, 2 weeks have got through 5 managers, with total contracts of eleven and a half years
So 5 managers in such a short time, does not inspire stability, For a club like Northamton league 1 is a challenge and relegation sometimes helps a club to grow.
Since 2004 they have only spent 6 seasons in league 1, and 3 seasons have been the maximum duration, before being relegated again.
So in this year of covid 19 and all the challenges being faced, Northamton struggling in league 1, was to be expected.
So in the words of old big head, the only thing a owner/ chairman has to do, is pick the right manager, and they are having a sixth attempt in 4 years, 1 month, 2 weeks
Bristol Rovers from Dec 2018 until feb 2021 had 6 managers, and now on their 7th, Clough snr certainly knew what he was talking about, even our Ollie Clarke giving them some advice.
