Definitely new defender incoming then.

Does Burton have any decent centre backs?

Clough said we have plenty of cover at CB so don’t think this necessarily means a CB will be coming in.

He was lost and got run ragged in Coughlans awful 3 at the back system.

As soon as he got played in a back 4 at Cambridge he looked a different player, although always a bit clumsy and prone to a mistake

From what Nigel says on the official site it seems Rollin wants regular starts which is commendable.

Maybe a little unlucky here and could develop into a solid centre half. I wish him luck.

Good move, clearly has all the attributes to be a good defender at this level, but he lacks concentration and is prone to a mistake. A loan move suits us, see how he develops and have a look at him in the Summer.

This would be more like the ''1 in 1 out'' NC talks about rather then Smith.

His Wiki page has changed already, all over it! Good luck to him, he does need to be playing and is 4th choice here. Be interesting to see how he gets on at the Mariners.

Surprised the lad has moved further north but perhaps beggars can't be chooses?

Good. A defender who is better upfront than in defence.

Looked ok once. Rest of time got turned inside out.

Not unexpected. Can’t see O’Driscoll going anywhere now unless Clough has another CB lined up.

To be fair you can say this for most of the squad. Only seen him in 1 game with a proper manager and he had a great game. 4 weeks ago we would have been worried about loaning a player to a rival team. Shows how far we have come that we can loan to a relegation threatened side.

First few games thought we had a really good signing on our hands ,but sadly is form dipped .

This looks like he is not going feature in NC future plans .

Good luck Rollin :)

Another one of Cogger's cloggers.
TBF mobility was his strong point. It has to be the amount of time he was out of position and needed to recover.

Shame he's gone to Grimsby, I fancy them to get relegated.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

It’s their biggest game of the season on Saturday. Wonder if they’ll chuck him straight in?!

Was told back in November that Menayese was a goner in January. That was before Clough was confirmed as manager as well, seems to have a punctuality problem amongst other things.

I liked Rollin Menayese. He has plenty of potential if he works hard. He's tall, quick and athletic and likes to attack the ball. He's prepared to bring the ball forward out of defence. Has scored a couple of goals from set pieces. He's also still a novice as he has only played around 35 EFL games. He's not going to make it though if he annoys managers by turning up late for training (if true).

From Grimsby Telegraph
Grimsby Town have made their second signing of the January transfer window with a loan deal for Rollin Menayese from Mansfield Town until the end of the season. The central defender is Paul Hurst's latest piece of business following the arrival of Sam Habergham. Menayese, 23, has made 14 appearances so far for the Stags, scoring twice.

Hurst - who has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of lower league players - watched a lot of football while he was out of work prior to becoming Grimsby Town manager again, and Menayese is one of those players who stood out during that time. "He's a player that I have been aware of for some time," Hurst told his club's official website. I have said that I had been watching games and he is someone that caught the eye while he has been at Mansfield. He has found himself out of the team there and available, so we have brought him here to add competition. On Saturday we were worrying about Mattie Pollock prior to the game and the obvious person to move would have been Elliott Hewitt, but we needed him in midfield as we only had two, so we need competition. He's probably a little different to Mattie and Luke at the back. He's quick and athletic and hopefully he brings that competition and he's keen to get involved."

Menayese added: "I think it's the right time for me because I really want to push myself, I want to keep on improving and hopefully we can get some wins. I have spoken to a few players about Paul Hurst - some of the boys at my club have worked with him and I spoke to Benno (Kyle Bennett) as well and he had good positive words to say, so I was very excited to come here".

Matty Pollock might be sold by Grimsby during the transfer window. Fenty could flog him and use the transfer fee to repay his £1.5 million loan.

Good luck Rollin. A good loan spell could but a bit of life back into his football.

He was exposed in a terrible system at the beginning of the season but did well against Cambridge. He’s not getting in above Rawson, Sweeney and Perch though so seems a good move all around.

I would have kept Rollin Menayese over Aaron O'Driscoll based on performances to date.

Perhaps Nigel is going to bring in his own man. If we have any injuries then he might play Andy Cook at centre half. :)
