Little addition.

Burton were definitely helped by the facilities, they trained at St Georges Park and obviously that would impress any kid and their parents.

I'd say as well as the Chairman having such a good reputation as being good to work for, the new training ground and set up here would have been a big plus and a major factor in Nige coming.

Broomo - What is the deal that Burton Albion have with St George's Park bearing in mind that it can cost clubs over £2,000 to train and eat there? The Stags spent a fortune training at St George's Park and Loughborough when DF was manager. They may have switched to Loughborough as it was cheaper. Are Burton Albion paying the market rate to use St George's Park or are they being subsidised by the FA?

Thanks for both posts broomo, all very encouraging. I've long wanted our club to give home grown players a real chance but for various reasons we've not really produced anyone of note for a long, long time.

Some of the cost was offset by letting the FA Host youth internationals at the Pirelli.

They still paid some rent, just not sure how much. Up until this season they also saved money by not showering or eating there.

the first team would either meet up in their cars or jump in the mini bus, train there then head back to tbe ground.
