You can see with Clough that he has the air of authority and respect when interviewed. Talks directly to Stevo eye to eye, unlike the previous incumbent who spent all his time looking at the floor or sky as though he'd something to hide.
I feel safe with Nigel. He has a future at Mansfield Town.

Although you'd think that media interviews are a minor part of a manager's job, being good at it is so important nowadays. At one time you'd occasionally speak on the radio a bit, which isn't quite as difficult.
Also, if a manager comes over badly in front of a camera it makes you suspect that the team talks are going to be uninspiring.
Nigel seems to have mastered it all.

How long before he gets called "clueless" though?

Lot of love for Nigel. He's doing a top job and I think next season, with a couple of transfer windows behind him, we'll be a force.

He shuts down the transfer talk quickly doesn't he.

'must be nice being dry at the back of the stand'
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

He will only say what he knows. We've put 2 bids in for players yesterday so said that. He's not the kind to be all "tomorrow or the day after we could have someone in" and Yorkshire stags' clock explodes from the ticking. We are bringing in 2-3 players over a whole month there's going to be no news most days.

He's got to be sick of it. Every pre and post match conference he's asked. Recently it's been 4 times a week.

No he will only say what he wants YOU to know. You won’t get many rumours of players coming out before we sign them because there’s usually only 4 or 5 people who know about it.
