I’m sure we were trying to funnel their play into the central midfield areas in the first half, where our mid-block trap was set and waiting to win it back over and over again.

Second half it was less effective because they took the extra player away, but is still thought we we the better side.

Unsung player of the half - Rawson has done some lovely little simple things really well. It's all you want from a centre back.

Spot on Arsene. I thought Farrend Rawson was very very good tonight. The ideal no nonsense centre half on a horrible boggy pitch. Head it, kick it, clear it. I thought he was the pick of our defence.

Whoscored gave MOM to Ryan Sweeney. I thought Ryan played well but he did get caught on the ball in the first half which could have resulted in a Salford goal.

The midfield 4 were fantastic, just fantastic, none less than 9/10.

They were fantastic on Saturday as well.

Reidy did well. He still made a few poor decisions but overall his hold up play was much improved. He bullied their defence at times.

That was his best game since Cambridge away although I thought he played well on Saturday against Port Vale. He is holding the ball up a lot better and working hard for the team closing down defenders.
