Watched it earlier, I think it’s criminal that Coughlan let Pearce go. Far better than anyone he’s brought in at centre back.

I also don't understand why he took an instant disliking to him but then had to rely on him then ditched him in the summer.

KP should still be here in my opinion. I know I thought he should have left because performances needed a shake up but this group is seriously lacking 1, a leader 2, someone who knows and loves the club on the pitch. He's better than anyone else we have and I think under Clough he would have been back to his best.

It's a old trick. Bomb out captain to show who is boss. Make an example out of him.

I think it will be a few years yet before any players truly lift the lid on what happened under Flitcroft and Coughlan in particular. KP is still playing so cannot afford to jeopardise any future moves so was coy in what he said. Mellis let loose a bit more when he did a podcast but I don't think we have the full story.

In a few years time I'd love to hear what Mal, Pearce and Rose all made of the past seasons since Murray through to Coughlan. I'd like to think we have put that era of rash decisions going all or nothing for promotion are behind us, and we're heading into a more pragmatic but ultimately successful era with Clough et al.

funny though because going off Mellis comments, most players thought . are you doing getting rid of the best players immediately, also rolled their eyes at his training methods "ball in the sky"

Yep. Exactly what Flitcroft did to Sir Bobby Hassell at Barnsley.

Really wish Chief was still with us. A lot on here have said he had a poor season last year. To me he was no worse than anyone else. The whole team underperformed under a rookie with JD and what seems to be a bully out of his depth with GC. Is Pearce inferior to Meyanese or Rawson? In my opinion, they are not in the same class as Krystian and I was gutted to see him leave and be treated in a shabby way. Sadly, that's football and despite the saying, never go back, I would welcome back the true leader he was for Mansfield Town.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pearce return in January or the summer.

Is that based on intelligence or supposition ?

Yep. Exactly what Steve Evans tried to do with KP.

Might have happened if the two replacements weren't expensive crocks. :)

Not exactly. Pearce wasn’t officially captain at that time.

No. He was a senior member of the squad nonetheless.
