Iron scorefred sponsored by Tier 4 here we come (k/o 1pm)

Postby Spiritater » Tue Dec 22, 2020 7:45 pm

Failed again at home then, must've been the toxic atmosphere of the fans in Field Mill...no
Well the boggy pitch then...no
The run out music of 'On the Ball'... no
Whatever it is let's hope the team don't start the same as at FM when they turn out on Boxing day at GP.
We've had one miracle this Xmas, let's hope we don't have to wait till next Xmas for another Jordan, it's time for you and the boys to produce another win.

 Sorry it's early but meant to load it to draft but pressed wrong button. Cursed us now

Last four games he refereed us has been 2 defeats and 2 draws.

Last Season we lost to Forest Green 4-3 when he was the referee.

Martin’s assessment

Graham Salisbury 5 Should have awarded Mansfield a penalty as Rawson controlled the ball with him arm away from his body in stoppage time. The referee’s view might have been obscured but then his assistant should have seen it. Played over time in injury time in both halves when there had not been additional stoppages and lightning struck twice as Forest Green scored during both of those periods.

Too much added time in both halves then. We also had him at Newport in February 2019 when he got the same rating as Charles Breakspear later that season at Newport and Lee Mason at Notts County the week after the February 2019 Newport game = stinker. Poor against FGR last season.

He also ref vs Lincoln in the 1-1 draw in one of Flitcroft’s first games.

Palmer’s late equaliser

Graham Salisbury 5 Sending off of Waterfall was correct, from our pitchside video footage. The second yellow card for Rhys Bennett was a very poor decision based on video footage. The foul against MacDonald for a dive was another poor decision, based on video footage.

Scunthorpe were terrible against Grimsby with an xG of 0.2.

We just need to mark Abo Eisa very closely on the left and keep a close eye on Alex Gilliead on the right. Manny Onariase has played well at centre half.

I'm sure our central midfielder on the right wing and our winger at right back will do.

With January round the corner and Clough stating 2 to 4 players coming in the pressure is on to perform. and Scunni not pulling up any trees, with no fans being away not so intimidating.
Expecting a point at least, in a hard fought game.

Got a good feeling about this game, Bowery to get a brace, 1 goal from midfield, 1 from a centre half and the last one from Maynard or Cook.
5-1 the Stags.

It's going to be difficult to play anyone who is leaving in January, imagine if Maynard scored a hat trick and was then loaned out.

I think there will be changes. I’d go:

4-4-2.

Stech

Perch Rawson Sweeney Benning.
Gordon Lapslie Clarke McLaughlan.
Bowery Cook.

It’s a toss up for me who plays central midfield with Clarke as neither Lapslie or Charsley have pulled any trees up in the last 3 games but I go with Lapslie because of his experience at a higher level, not on current form.

Would be nice if we did score first but our general inability to hold on to a lead says we'll need another two goals after t'first before I'm confident of walking out of GP with three points.

Id bring O'Keefe in for Rawson and play Perch at CB but I agree with the rest. I wouldn't fancy Perch against a pacy winger and to have the engine to get up and down the pitch for 90 mins.

Nigels comments about formations make me think he will stick to the 433 but I do think 2 up top forces us to be more direct when we attack and we look a bigger threat.

Am I the only person who wants to see okeefe and Gordon on the right with Gordon was a winger?
