Despite our poor finishing... we were the better side overall ... but we made hard work of it ....
Was it a master stroke from Nigel in bringing Maynard on so late.... whatever it worked. But it’s a work in progress.

Great result in the end, we were the better team. My major concern about this team though is that we rely a lot on width for a team that doesn’t have wingers.

I agree with that. Yea his finishing is poor but his hold up play, his work rate and his ability to bring others into the game is head and shoulders better than any of the other front men.

He's won us the game today as much as Maynard. Also thought Rawson played very well against a very physical centre forward.

Thought Reid did ok, got himself into good positions but lacks a bit of conviction. I'd like to see his body language improve, maybe it's his style but he looked a bit half arsed to me.

Scrappy but I don't care, we had enough chances and half chances to win 2 games.

We're into the hat and that's all that matters.

That overhead kick from Jamie Reid could be a promising sign that there are a lot better things to come from him.

I think he was brought on specifically for the penalties, as was Stone.
I can't understand the drooling over Reid.

Bowery’s first touch is excellent. I see why he’s starting. We just need a striker alongside him that can score goals

And Bowery was involved with both goals today. We just need someone along side him who can convert regularly

He was playing against a team a league below and still failed to score. His overall play looks bellow par. I can't see him doing it at league two level. He looks no better than the guy we signed from Solihull Moors (his name escapes me ), that we let go back to the National League. I hope I'm wrong.

Despite his 2 misses from inside the 6yd box, o thought he did well today. Like I said earlier, Everything but the Goal.

Exactly this, he got to put in one hell of a shift to prove us wrong and do it at league level and he's not exactly a kid hes 26. He's also not a boo boy, he doesn't half try but he brings next to nothing to the table.

Plenty of games to go for him so we will be able to comment again come the end of the season because I think he will be given enough opportunity

We desperately need some pace in the side, especially upfront, we’re too reliant on our attacks coming from out wide, but predictable.

Thought you was only allowed one extra sub?

3 subs plus 1 more in extra time. Total 4 if extra time played.

We were the better side and should have won it much earlier. (We possibly would have done so if Maynard had have come on earlier/started).

We are lacking that incisive threat in the final third - and I wonder if Nigel might look to bring in a couple of wingers who have some pace and a decent cross?

Mal seems a shadow of the player he was two years ago. The back four worry me. Coughlan brought too many poor players.

It is difficult to tell whether this team is poor, or whether it could be quite good with the right 3 additions? ... Either way, we are sadly a long way off being a promotion chasing team. Staying up this year will be a good achievement, given the massive damage the previous incumbent has done.

That said - well done today - a thoroughly deserved win. Now lets start doing that in the league!
