Thought he came across really well - brings some profile to the club.
Talks about incoming ( which probably means outgoing) so clearly has targets.
He’s talking about next year but who knows - top man

What a knowledgeable, down to earth chap he is.
I really do feel that things are going to change quite quickly for the better.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the interview wasn’t a calculated move. Like the previous post, reminds people Mansfield are here and we mean business. Thanks for the link Martin

Thanks Martin. A great listen.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m literally bursting with pride and excitement that we have Nigel as our manager. I’ve not been this excited and optimistic about MTFC for what seems like an eternity.
Not expecting miracles this season, but will be happy with signs of improvement and some good, long term focussed signings coming in during the Jan window, and see what happens.

Great interview with a great guy. Tells it how it is. I’m full of optimism for the future with Nigel in charge. He also retains some of his dad’s sense of humour which is important

He’s in for a shock when fans return ‘you don’t hear much moaning from the stands’

I'm more than happy that we've landed Chris Hughton for Forest, but can't help envy the fit which you seem to have found with Nigel.
Grounded, earthy, realism & ambition. Great listen.
Lovely to hear him being realistic about building for next season, and not just throwing soundbytes out about promotion this year. He'll get you a REAL foundation which you can build on properly. Excited for you.

After that just felt like bringing the song back:
Woke up this morning feeling fine
I’ve got Mansfield on my mind
Cloughy’s got us playing the way we should
Something tells me i’m into something good!

100% agree.
Such a positive song.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Simple change of wording to "i'm into something Clough " but the song is tarnished by being linked to Chinese Steve ,

Listening to Nigel talking about walking his dog around the training facility, my mind immediately went to his dad who spent alot of time mentioning exactly the same trait during interviews. I also thought it was funny when the interviewer asked about his views on the Derby/Cocu/Rooney position. Cloughie sounded like he had no interest whatsoever in what's going on over there. I'm still shocked that he's here.

We're only making plans for Nigel
He only wants what's best for us
We're only making plans for Nigel
He has his future at Mansfield Town
And if Young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
We must be happy
That he's happy in our world.
Theirs not to reason why
Theirs but to do and die
