I'm not sure a loan move to Nottinghamshire's 3rd club is either good for him or MTFC. Loans are all about game time, will he get it there? Or at least to any consistent level that makes the laon worthwhile? A decent Conf North / South side and 30+ starts under his belt will benefit him and us more.
I wish him luck as he clearly has a future in lower league football ahead of him.

If he does well we could recall him in January, there is always that option in year loan deals.

That'd make me smile. A rip roaring first half of the season for Jimmy and County flying high, only for us to recall him in Jan and them slowly fall away Forest Green style. I still think he'll be doing a similar bench warming job there which would be a shame for him.

Good move for the lad... And as much as we like to poke fun at County and their recent demise into oblivion they are still a very big club with a cracking ground.
Really hope he does well for them and comes back to us as the real deal striker we know he is.

don't be daft. We're just helping out our little non-league neighbours. We've also done it with Rainworth, Carlton etc.
I managed a smile.
Id have preferred our best young prospect to not help fire our local rivals to promotion though.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Chesterfield are our main rivals.
County just try and make us theirs as no bugger else wants them.
I don't want to see them do well, they are our local rivals, but I'm not as overly fussed if Jimmy does well there and scores a hatful as I would be if he went to the Spireites and did so.

there's little difference between lge 2 and top of the conf. i hope jim does really well, it'll do him good. He'd never have chance of a decent run in team here.

As you say that's your opinion. At present I wouldn't fancy our chances in the Conf to finish top.

Establish yourself, next year is your year Jimmy
I'm hoping he fires county back to the league.
Close enough to join our squad for sessions etc

It makes sense. He's 6th choice striker here at best. Get him some senior competitive minutes under his belt.

Regarding the salary cap, you can deduct income generated from loans but this does not apply to U21 players as they are excluded from the salary cap and a player cannot have a salary cap value of less than zero.

I wonder if Jimmy Knowles has been picked up on County's Danish owners' Data Radar or is there someone at County who knows Jimmy from his Forest days?
If Jimmy Knowles does well at County then he may not return to Field Mill. They could pay us a reasonable transfer fee with a decent sell on clause. Lee Gregory did not want to return to the Stags after he had been playing and scoring at Halifax Town in National League North.

Be nice if Jimmy scored the goal that sent the Spireites down.
