Good luck to GC, his staff and players. I hope we have a successful season and you prove doubters like me wrong.

How can anybody be a doubter already? Or the opposite for that matter.

Absolutely, this is just the beginning of his time here really. Good luck to him, I think we may still be a player or two short but there is plenty of time to sort that out.

Whilst I agree this is now his squad, he has been here half a season.

Regarding the doubt, it's based on last season and the two competative games so far.

It's just an opinion no better or worse than those who think we will be promoted this season.

Doesn't mean I don't wish them well.

Half a season is nothing Andy, especially when you consider the state of the team when he took over. Like you I am concerned and think mid table is realistic, but the point really is that it's too early to pass any sort of judgement on GC, much as we both argued for DF when some wanted him sacked after 8 games!

Disregard last season. He needs to be measured from now onwards

Regarding the doubters, he probably reads this forum!

In all seriousness, I think he is mindful that in terms of league table standing, we didn't move too far from the point of Dempster leaving to when the season was curtailed early. I think many will agree that it was likely to have got worse if the change wasn't made, and there was very little to play for in terms of looking up the table. The ship was somewhat steadied with the resources he had available to him.

I feel he had a lot to deal with when he first came in. There were clear and obvious issues with many players - Andy Cook is an example of one where it took action to loan him out as things were clearly not all rosy, but he's now back and 'appears' to be fully committed to MTFC. I'd have put money on Cook starting this season with another club, so credit to GC in that regard.

Like others have said, this is now his team, and I will make any judgement based on how we fair this season, starting from Saturday and definitely not from the cobbled together PSF schedule, and extraordinary arrangements for the 2 EFL competitions, all enforced against a backdrop of unusual and uncertain times due to Covid.

They always say judge a manager when he's had 2 or 3 windows to build his own squad. So even if we don't get off to the best start we've still got to give him a chance. We know what this place is like, a defeat Saturday and the usual suspects will be slitting their wrists. Brentford were 17th for the first couple of months last season and then it clicked. It takes times with a new team.

There needs to be more than hungry eyes in that defence and pick up on obvious runners !!
Hope the good talk from CG brings something
Have a strange feel about season ahead and it’s not good but will give 100 percent support for the project

He’s managed 17 competitive game, two of which were the games at the start of this season, one which were weren’t ready for against far superior opposition. 15 league games he’s managed, a third of a season.

I really like this manager so hopefully we do well. He’s honest, and takes no crap. I feel more positive than I have since Evans came in.

I'd argue a manager needs more time than that. I'd say 3 as a minimum, unless it's horrifically bad (ala Dempster). GC is on 2 transfer windows and still has players under contract who was signed by previous managers. He's not forced to actually want them. On the retained list only players he's negotiated with and/or activated the extension clause.

Even with our signings this summer. Most are on 2 year deals. Any new manager who happens to come in like GC did last season is then stuck with potential players he doesn't want for the next 18 months.

I agree, though DF had 2 transfer windows, finished 4th and was still sacked.
