exactly, we didn't have much of a chance today. Get 90 mins into the lads and get them ready for when it matters

We all know Preston are a better side than us and a result today was very unlikely, but I’m disappointed that we haven’t made the game competitive. I wanted to see us show signs that our shape looks good and that we’ll be solid. and also show a willingness to get on the ball when we get in their half and try to create. Shame we haven’t seen that today. We look pretty toothless up top, thank god we signed Maynard.

Get a game lined up against a non league side for next week. All well and good playing teams better than us as a learning exercise, but we don’t get to put any practice in to going forwards.

We can say with some justification that the game has come too early and Preston are a very good side.
That said seems to be a big gap between defence and forwards and we’ve struggled (first 15 mins aside) to put anything together.
They’ve made 500 passes at 83 per cent accuracy and we’ve had 200 at 62 percent, which says a lot.
