Stech has been very shakey in this half.

Poor third goal from free kick which was headed in Rotherham's smallest forward. Conrad would have been crucified.

We still can't defend free kicks and we still can't take free kicks.

3-0 now from a? Yep you guessed it, a free kick delivery.

FT,

Impressive first half. Far from impressive the 2nd half.

We've got our first competitive game next Saturday as well.

Tough test but we were poor in the second half. We need to defend better in the final third. A little concerned about our forward line. Tyrese had a great shot on goal and is capable of a start in my opinion. Early days though and good to see the One Call again.

Poor second half, didn’t look like scoring and looked very easy to score against, not happy with Stechs starting position for the first goal and he should of done better for the 3rd, also why does Mal Benning back off as soon as a winger gets the ball? Does it a lot (2nd goal) and it’s frustrating.

Looks like a team that needs to score first , can’t see us chasing games in trying to equalise.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

Disagree with that, thought we were very good in the first half.

Can’t read much into these games. All about getting match fit. Rotherham decent too. Better than thrashing a Retford team or a Worksop team.
I still find it amusing though that we’re one of the favourites to go up. I hope I’m wrong but I’d put at least half a dozen sides above us atm.

Watched the first 60 minutes before going to actual pre-season friendly.

Looked pretty impressive first half, the first 15 minutes seemed to be how the rest of the half went.

Positives was O Keefe and Charsley for me. Playing O Driscoll centre mid shows we need another one in the building.

Interest that GC mentioned after the last about not knowing the score. Shows that these things are about match fitness, and assessment of individual areas. I think this one was predominantly about defence and what we need to change.

Stech has a good pedigree so hopefully today was just a raspberries day for him

The classic game of two halfs. The Stags were the best team in the first half and should have been 2-0 up at half time with goals from Benning and Maris. Rotherham were easily the better side in the second half but two of their goals were due to defensive mistakes. Ryan Sweeney gave the ball away for the first goal. Rollin Menayese made a good recovery tackle but the ref gave a free kick which Joe Mattock scored from. Chiedoze Ogbene then crossed from the right and Smith scored with a cheeky back heel to make it 2-0. The Stags gave the ball away too much in the second half and struggled to build pressure and attacks. We then conceded a poor third goal from a free kick which was headed in Rotherham's smallest forward, Mikel Miller, who started off at Carshalton Athletic before moving to Hamilton Academicals.

Tyrese Sinclair came on as a sub and had a nice little cameo performance winning three free kicks and having a free kick tipped over the bar.

Chiedoze Ogbene did well in the 2nd half for Rotherham. He is Irish so perhaps GC will add him to his potential list of signings.

It was probably an ideal pre-season match. Our weaknesses were highlighted by a side of quality, and you can see what areas need working on. I'd much rather get a lesson in football and lose a match when the result is meaningless.

It's going to be a long season again if todays showing is anything to go by . Rotherham were fitter ,faster and technically way ahead of us as you would expect . It will be interesting to see how well they do as a promoted side to the Championship. A lot of effort by the Stags in the first half which couldn't be maintained Charsley and O'Keefe looked good as did Tyrese Sinclair when he came on. Benning clearly carrying on his frustrating form from last Season , not sure about Stech yet and Perch is clearly past his best. Reputations count for very little when the starting whistle goes. Poor service generally to the Strikers so the jury is out on the new guys up front alhough Bowery looks off pace
