Training with Plymouth Argyle's fitness coach.

Doubt he's doing it from home in Cheshire.

Expect he will be backup there though.

we would've been preparing for life in the conference without Maynard's goals. Stupid post

Agreed he was a shining light in a sea of despair.

15 odd goals in that shower last season was quite the achievement.

He came here because we finished 4th the season before, liked our style of play and we had the cash to afford him.

In the end we finished 21st, didn't have the fitness to play any style but at least we paid him.

At his stage in his career he will want a promotion before he retires and from his perspective we've gone backwards compared to the team he faced the season before. He will be keeping his options open.

What!

Maynard is the most skillful striker we have had in years, OK he missed chances, that's why he is a L2 striker.
He was on a year deal, so who's fault is that? If we choose not to match last year's wages he moves on, his choice, no problem, but MTFC will lose ouT Again unless we get the top striker we need.

As for Reid, hope he comes good but there are no certainties, it could take him a full season to bridge the gap.

Fair enough, you’ve your opinion (though I dare say you’re on your own here  )

If he’s mediocre I’m intrigued by a list of players you’ve seen in the Mansfield shirt who aren’t.

15 goals in a side like that - mediocre? Wow

It's stupid because you're calling him a one season wonder, he's only been here a year so isn't that a good thing? That means he had a good season. Like I said, remove Maynard from the team and we would've been relegated, yet you're saying 'No hero, mediocre'. I am pretty grateful we had Maynard to save our arses personally.

Like others are saying, 2nd or 3rd top scorer in the league at a team that finished 21st isn't that mediocre to me.

I bit, or he's genuinely just a few chips short of a happy meal. Not the most uncommon trait for a Mansfield fan though

Using the word stupid is a bit ironic really because I haven't actually said he is a one season wonder. You seem to think I have somehow.

Well I'm going to side with the mediocre tag, seen loads of better forwards in a Mansfield shirt over the years,he should have won the game at Crewe on his own with the amount of chances he had.

Never looked happy here, perhaps with Dempster methods etc. Not fussed if he has gone.

That’s a big void in terms of Goals contributed , has Doyle penned a new deal with Swindon yet ?

In typical Mansfield Town fashion he will move to another club and be the leagues top scorer next season you watch!

Any idea why he only signed a one year deal upon signing for us last season?
Was it the player or clubs decision as this now seems very odd?
Most of our signings get two years, I would have thought a marquee signing would have been tied down for longer than one year?
