Support your club! Waive the refund.

Postby Random Hero » Fri May 15, 2020 3:04 pm

With today’s announcement that the season is over, I’ve already seen some posts on Facebook asking about a ‘refund’.

JR has done so much for this club, and has put his hand in his pocket when he didn’t have to more times than I dare to imagine, to the tune of millions of pounds.

So, if you can afford to waive your refund, please consider it.

That money will have already been budgeted for, possibly already spent.

That £90 (approx) owing may make the difference between the club surviving, or us not having a team to watch next season.

Show your support! :) All Stags aren’t we!

Agree with all that

I’m happy not to have a refund and will have saved money as no match day expenses

Understand tho that some will seen things differently or need the money

Totally agree.

Respect that each person has their own set of circumstances, but for me that money is gone and so be it. I would rather the club put it to good use now.

If by declining a refund it means that the club has a greater degree of stability, off the pitch stability, an increase in the quality of the squad then I am all for it.

If the money is to be used on a bigger ‘pair’ for Carolyn then no. Because you can have too much of a good thing............ Unless of course it is going to be spent on Lime Green jelly. :D

I do totally agree and think if you can afford it waive it.

However, if that £70 odd really makes a difference then right now given the weird world we currently occupy I wouldn’t begrudge someone asking for it.

If you’ve those asking for it just because they’re brain dead then that’s a different matter

As an aside, has there been any programs printed or match day badges for games that were not played (other than the waterlogged pitch game) that are available?

If so could the club or the SSA dm me to purchase them.

You are always going to get some people asking for a refund, can’t they make next seasons prices cheaper to current season ticket holders? That way the club won’t be refunding money that has possibly already been spent.

I agree with this point, honestly I could do with a refund as things stand there is no way I can afford season tickets next year, I'm on minimum wage and currently furlonged having to survive on £233 per week, I rely on overtime to purchase 3 season tickets for me n kids..
Shoot me down as much as you want, any refund will go back to purchasing season tickets...

Further to that, new subscriptions to iFollow will help too.
As a regular subscriber, it's clear that our iFollow has constant content added to it compared with every other EFL club.
Even during this lockdown, Martin has put loads of classic matches and highlights packages on there.

More recently there is a full 22 minute sit down with David Sharpe, so you more than get your money's worth, it won't just be a charitable donation to the club.

I’m not bothered about a refund.
All I want is a club to back to once this is over

No-one in the right mind is going to have a go at a fan/a that genuinely need the money for whatever reason, putting food on the table for the family is more important than this or any other football club.

It’s just if someoneS after the £70 for no reason that it would probably look so good in the eyes of some.

I won’t be asking for it, and I know others too. If club do contact me and say I can have it, I’ll say no .

As I said in another thread, no interest whatsoever in a refund. Would much rather see the club be stable.

Completely understand that other people’s circumstances are different and could need the money and we shouldn’t make people feel bad for that.

I don’t want a refund and I’m happy to pay full price for a season ticket next season.

Every little to keep the club going

The refund is not an issue at all for me saved 10 times that amount with the pubs and betting being curtailed!

I’m an interested in what will happen with Season Ticket renewals this year. The likelihood of a season starting in August in next to zero, there’s the possibility that the season could start behind closed doors, or be curtailed again if there is another rise in cases. Be interesting to see how we (and other clubs) approach this. Managed to depress myself there, apologies!
