Rose, Maynard, Cook would be a good front three to have available.
Sort this midfield, get another decent winger who is a threat and we're rolling.
But Cook didn't want to be at the One Call, he will be gone before next season, whenever that is?
I'm not sure anyone will be willing to pay his wages when things resume, and neither would he like to take a pay cut.
I think we may end up having to subsidise the rest of his wages if he does move on, but if we're going to have to pay him anyway had we might as well not be able to actually use him? Going to be a tricky one I think.

I hope Cook stays too, always room for a big un up front in this league,he also scores goals out of nothing whereas Maynard misses countless 1 on 1's.

Now that GC maybe they might want to play for a manager who actually knows what he’s doing.
On the assumption they fit into his plans

The new Director of football said we would be looking at players that would normally be signing for league one clubs i noted, so i take from that the money available will be similar, just got to see how it pans out
i expect The Gas squad will be his first port of call

Doesn't necessarily mean it will provide success. We've signed duffers from league 1 in the past.

He said we would gor for players that would normally sign for league one clubs. So not just L1 players but players from L2 and non league that would’ve been snapped by L1

Not sure Cook would be the answer
He is threat but had a poor season overall and things did not seem right for him under either manager but maybe fresh start and all that
Maynard is the one to hope to stay more for me and also Rose as gives 100%

The thing is Cook would be suited under GC and with Maynard as a partner. Can’t see that many better partnerships in league two tbh.

I don't think Cook ever looked fully fit which is hardly surprising given what we already know. A proper pre season and I think he would do well.

Every club he’s been at he’s been labelled unfit even in his 1st stint with Tranmere , he scores goals and that you can’t argue against but personally I wouldn’t want him in the starting 11 we need better if we ever want to get out this league .

Hey, it was Cook who said he wanted away because he can't play a pressing game.
All this rubbish about him being the answer to our striker woes.
Maynard no doubt, Cook not in a thousand years.

This.
No doubt about it Cook can finish and playing in the right team will bag goals but he’s not fit enough to play a Coughlan style pressing game.

If Radford was one of the main protagonists calling for the salary cap, and we have kept on a greater number of youth team players (far more than anyone would expect)also we have appointed a new director of football to work alongside the head of recruitment..... Well that evidence would suggest that we are preparing for something that not a lot of other clubs seem to have a head start on. There was an awful lot of EFL Chairman meetings throughout this lockdown period, and it would appear John and Carolyn were in on most, of not all of them.
I can see lower league football changing dramatically, and our successful youth system (albeit not transmitted into first team appearances) may have to be utilised as part of the new makeup.
I think the days of big wages and wow factor signings at our level may well be over.

I wonder if there could be more wow factor signings as higher league clubs squeeze out fringe players to cut their costs. Interesting times ahead and I for one am glad the bubble has been pricked, if not fully burst. For too long top clubs have bought far too many players!!! Unfortunately some lower league clubs could go to the wall because of it, but everything happens for a reason.....apparently!!!

The only rule that needs changing is that a lower league club can loan as many players they like from the same higher league club.
The League Two team then can just be the higher teams B Team in disguise.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.
