James Goodwin has tweeted that Salford are looking to lure Bostwick up north. They would need to offer him an absolute fortune and considerably more than what we can offer for him to take on a 5 hour round trip from Stamford or move his family.

Goodwin also says that Mansfield & Salford are gambling on wages comparable to last year.

If he’s asking for a fortune then let them have him, yes he’s a good player, yes he would be perfect in a back 3 but as we have seen we can attract league 1 quality and there are plenty of other players out there, it’s a clubs market this summer, not a players.

My view is we need three central defenders, two first choice and maybe a young back up player, a wide player hopefully left side, another central midfielder with experience and a striker should Cook leave.

the best way to make these fake twitter accounts go away, is not to keep repeating their fake information.

where's the fun in that Martin?

I love a good rumour

Don't we all? Especially with what's happening right now, a lot of them are not true but it's exciting being linked with names we'll never sign

Plus, you get rid of one of these fake accounts, theres two more being made

Is that because of the R rate?

You’d have to think that Salford would have to offer a fair bit more than us for him to move his family to Manchester.

No big deal for me if he doesn't come we only want players who actually want to be here... Give it a month or so and they'll be hundreds of proven championship, L1 & L2 players desperately seeking contracts anyway.

I’ll throw this one in. Bostwick is waiting to see if he gets a new deal at Lincoln. Although he’s been released they still want to keep him but on a lot less money. That’s what’s been stalling his move. I bet if we offer him a 2 year contract he’ll come to us.

Why ? It’s all about money. Doyle owes no one any loyalty does he ? He’s going to negotiate the best deal for him. Naive to think otherwise

Really? If you want the better players you’ve got to expect other interest.

It’s quite clear that we are after a proven striker and in order for us to land one we will have to outbid other clubs as they are so sought after. By all means work on other targets, but at the level of striker we are clearly looking at bringing in we will face competition from other clubs on other targets as well and we will have to persevere with ‘the chase’.

For what it’s worth, the Doyle one seems pretty unlikely now but I’m glad to know that we clearly don’t feel like we are finished in that department yet!

I agree. The are no guarantees we will even start or let alone finish next season. Now isn't the time to pay out on excessive fees.

We need a 20+Goal a season Striker Doyle ticks the box , but every team in any division needs one you either gamble and pay him what he wants or move on .

Wonder if we will go back to Maynard if Doyle goes to Bolton, afterall he was 2nd to him in the goalscoring charts.

They’ve had new owners since August.
