What could be better than a last minute winner at Luton?
Lindon Meikle with the goal as Mansfield win 3-2 at Luton in February 2013 on the way to promotion.

Is there any footage of Hartlepool at home 85/86 season , the game that we clinched promotion?

it would be wonderful if there was, but there is no footage available of a single game that season. Not even against Chelsea. The following season a few games were filmed and on TV, and then a few more the season after that, and then it started to become routine for all games to be filmed.

If I start to subscribe iFollow tomorrow, could I catch up with last few games especially 5-0 against Notts County?

Adam Murray scores a cracker at York in 2002. The Stags lost the game but were promoted on the final day of the season.

Wembley 1987 - the climax of the penalty shootout as Mansfield win the Freight Rover Trophy.

This is previously unseen footage from the cutting room floor - footage filmed by HTV West from behind the goal, which was never shown in full. I obtained it from someone who found it while working at one of the ITV stations who knew I was interested in Mansfield Town footage.

Meanwhile you can still watch the game from Wembley on iFollow Stags - we added it last month.

Great vid.

How many fans did we take that day...I’ve heard people say 25,000 but the commentator on that vid states 15,000.

You can now watch the full 90 minutes on iFollow Stags of Mansfield's 4-0 win over Eastbourne Borough in Sep 2010.

This was John Radford's first game as the new owner of the Stags and included in the footage is John Radford being introduced to the crowd by Steve Hymas and then saying a few words himself.

Great memories!

There's only one Kevin Hitchcock... :drummer:

Cheeky raspberry commentator. City naturally more there than us but they didn't out number us 2 to 1. We had about 25k there and think the attendance was some like 58k. So that works out at about 33k

I have the Nottingham Evening Post somewhere. It stated that there were 58000 tickets sold. Wembley stated the official att as over 72000.
I, like all the lads that I travelled with paid at the turnstiles. A bus load of lads from Sutton also paid on the day. I also met a mini bus of west brom fans that followed us on the day plus I met 3 Fulham fans whom at that time had been to every game at Wembley for years and told me that there was always a few turnstiles that were pay on the day.
Why do the two football teams I support always let me down.

No way did they only have 33k. When they equalised it was the loudest noise I’ve heard in a football ground apart from Shearer scoring against us at Newcastle. They had at least 40k that day imo and we had 25k. I wonder how many neutrals there were? What a day!

In terms of MTFC, it was the best day of my life and something I will never, ever forget. Just looking over the sea of flags and scarves was just something to behold. You can support Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City etc etc, but nothing will mean more than that did to us. A perfect day, the perfect Captain but it has to be said, a rubbish kit!

Plus Rob, whatever the 'younger' supporters say the new Wembley just isn't the same as the 'aura' surrounding the old.
Turning onto Wembley Way that day(we must have been last bus there)and seeing a sea of Amber and blue with the iconic towers in the background was an amazing sight.
Nowadays it's through an old industrial estate and come out to an identikit plastic stadium.

Just watching the Wimbledon game.

The size of that crowd!! It was I think the last gate over 10,000 recorded at Field Mill. But looking at the swarm of fans getting in the QLE & walking round the pitch it must have been closer to 12,000.

Sensibly handled by the police too on the day. Imagine the current Notts Police handling that?
Logic is lost in your cranial abatoir,
Shallow empty inside,
Sly witted and full of snide.
