I think we should cancel the season, and use last seasons placing. No time for the playoffs, therefore the side finishing 4th gets promoted from last season which means we get promoted

Or just use the league tables from the beginning of March as final placings...keeping County in the NL and dropping our friends over the M1 into regional footy.

EFL are owners of the stupidest Comms team in light of what has happened and what was always going to happen.

The season is now unlikely to end properly. EFL will get legal challenges however they decide to deal with it, but the league's were stopped during WWII and you'd think there was contractual top cover against it in events like this.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

What I don't understand about this is how these exact same thousands of people that would have been in attendance will now simply be elsewhere, possibly passing on or contracting regardless. Like how places have banned gatherings over 500 people, like 499 is totally safe though

300 in the Rescue Rooms would be a lot more germy that 500 in Rock City.

But yet 70,000 will be at Cheltenham horse racing and the 70,000 at the rugby tomorrow.

Not stating the footy shouldn't be off - just seems odd that they're still on

Avoids a honeypot situation though doesn't it. Or the need to travel on a coach or train. It's about contain population movements and delaying the spread to ease the burden on the emergency services. A slow spread can be better managed.

the only info I've seen on tickets for football is here. I imagine info will come out over the coming days:

Thanks Martin, bought a ticket for a family member so wanted to know if I would be refunded, can you post more information as it comes in

Am at the Rescue Rooms on Monday to see Hayseed Dixie and then next Saturday to Sheffield Leadmill to see 808 State. Looks like that is my death warrant signed. At least the last thing I may ever hear is an amazing Bassline.

Going to (or most likely not going to) nearly sold out Stiff Little Fingers at Rock City week after next, both the band & the audience will be in the 'at risk' age bracket.

Games are not off because of the spectators. They are off because of players and staff with Coronavirus

https://www.efl.com/news/2020/march/efl-statement-coronavirus-update3/

This action, which will be kept under constant review, has been taken due to the increasing numbers of Clubs taking steps to isolate their players and staff because of the COVID-19 virus.

But no-one at Mansfield has coronavirus - so on that basis we shouldn't be off.

I'm pretty confident the EFL will have cancelled the games with stopping fan travel in mind also.

I was looking forward to seeing Pete Townshend (74) and Roger Daltrey (76) for a third time next month but they have cancelled The Who's tour due to coronavirus. I thought they wanted to die before they got old but they're just thinking about their generation. I won't get fooled again.
