Watched Bish walk off. He'd played well but his grudging token little claps as he walked off barely lookin at crowd was poor, as though he feels the whole crowd are on his back still. Let it go Neal for God's sake

:guitar: All together now

Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
And smile, smile, smile
While you've a lucifer to light your fag
Smile, boys, that's the style!
What's the use of worrying?
It never was worthwhile
So pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
And smile, smile, smile

His manager makes a positive comment after most home games regarding the fans . Bishop’s attitude seems to be the complete opposite . I reckon both Know this is Bishops last season and the manager cannot change the players attitude and the player feels no need to change. Experienced head in midfield during a game ,supposedly very good during training but not the best role model when interacting with the paying customer. Strongly suspect if he was a younger player the manager would be having a quiet word.

Thank you to every player other than Bishop for clapping the fans after the game yesterday. You deserved the win and the fans who braved those conditions deserved it too.

He did clap the fans though. It was grudging but he did do it.
The bloke can't win, he has behaved childishly, apologised and came to his next home game and put in a shift. He didn't sulk on the pitch, helped us to a win and still gets brickbats.

We don't have a clue what is going on with him but it didn't show in his performance yesterday. He didn't march off like Maynard has on several occasions under Dempster and he briefly applauded the fans. If he came out and talked about MH issues like Billy Kee then he would probably have half of the people on here suddenly projecting him as a hero.

He gave 100% on the pitch yesterday, and watch him celebrate the goal. I think we should give it a rest. He’s only human. He’s doing his best.

Absolutely right, I guess its the fans who abuse him who are now expecting him to clap them  Was definitely one of his better games yesterday and makes a mockery of those who reckon his legs have gone, for a player of his age, to play that way on that pitch is a tribute to how fit he is.

I have to correct you random, he gave a half-arsed clap as he got near A block where the other players were looking up to where half their families tend to sit... same sentiment though and yes I was watching his reaction just due to what happened last week and this thread. That said he gave a fully committed performance and have to thank him for that, our teams work and desire was the difference yesterday.

Yes you are probably right, but I think I will get over the fact a grown man didn't clap me. In fact, I'm already over it

It was nice to see him actually put in a decent performance yesterday, there’s life in the old dog yet - took a while to get going mind.

I understand that bish is one of the “bad apples” that GC wants rid of, which given he’ll be pushing 40 in the summer might suit both parties.

He’s been a good servant by and large, fair play to the lad.

good footballer though bish is, he’s clearly not the sharpest crayon in the box, it’s a good job the footballing careeer has been good to him

Played well against Newport, my MOM.

As for all you experts out there, you have not got a clue about him being a bad Apple or not and if he is or isn't the sharpest knife in the box, so give it a rest.

Does anyone think he'll stay on at the club like Macca?

Can't see it myself.

I totally agree with you oldweststander.

He played well yesterday. Showed a lot of desire and energy to get up the pitch when we scored.

Unfortunately for him he's been handed the baton now that Logan is on loan and Preston on the bench.

We all should be concentrating on the win, not half hearted hand clapping.

Football fans can be the flakiest of snow flakes.

Happy to dish out abuse to players, yet squeal like a pig if a player returns the compliment.

So true. It's the same in the Lower West, they give the opposition benches abuse all game and then are fuming when they turn to them and celebrate after scoring.

We’ve had many a player that would happily be as unprofessional on the pitch as off in these situations so yes I’m glad he’s delivered on the pitch. Even when he was misbehaving at Morecambe he was putting the effort in, yes it wasn’t coming off but I’ve seen many players just switch off and stop caring. I felt a lot of his reaction came from frustration. So yes I am happy to thank him for some professionalism on the pitch this week.

Best not be! We can’t let a few sporadic solid performances here and there during the rest of this season distract from the fact that many of these players aren’t good enough for where we want to be as a football club. The midfield looked very suspect during the last third of last season, it wasn’t addressed last summer and as a group they’ve continued to deteriorate. We can do much better with the quite large amounts of money we’re paying to our players.

Ah yes, the 'paid my money, can say what i like' contingent

Imo, i think it's less about the insult returned by the player and more about them losing face in front of everyone

All of this is true but a professional player shouldn’t be giving his own supporters the finger under any circumstances.
