You never know Evans may turn out to be another Whiteman.

Purely speculation, but....

Andy Cook, although a good goalscorer, is not in the mould of a striker that GC is after. He is overweight and doesn't close defenders down well. He may not have adapted well to the new fitness regime that GC is after, and he has been given the opportunity to move on.

Jacob Mellis again can float in and out of games, and although has great vision when he has the ball, does not close down or chase back consistently enough. Fitness is obviously called into question, and if he did want to be successful would work on this side of the game and probably be playing in the Championship. If he's shown no desire to improve under GC, he has been given the option to move on.

Otis Khan proved in the summer that he was up for the fight and trained really hard to be fit for this season, so why hasn't he played much? and why isn't he selected? The only thing I can think of are based around some of the "Meet the Players" videos, where they all intimated that he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box. This may imply that despite guidance and instruction from GC he is not seeing Khan improve, so has given him the option to move on.

GC knows the type of players he is after, and those that do not fit his plans. he has to build his team and whether that means he gets rid of 14 players or retains 14 players, he knows what he wants on the pitch and believes he can get it from those players.

We may not like the style of play, we may not like all the results, and we may wonder why he keeps playing MacDonald (MoM how many times since GC arrived?) but he is on a building mission, and some of the loanees may be the style he wants but not necessarily the actual player at this stage.

Its alright saying we need players that will run all day, but surely it's football and you need players that can do the business with the ball bit. If all were concentrating on is the foot bit we will be signing Paula Ratcliffe.

Andy Cook played up front for Tranmere today with James Vaughan in their 2-0 home defeat by Portsmouth. It looks like he had a header saved in the 1st half and shot wide in the 2nd half.

I don't know how he did not score here as the Portsmouth keeper seems to be out of his goal.

Yep. All our loan-aways are doing fabulously, aren’t they!

Andy Cook played up front with James Vaughan in a 0-0 home draw for Tranmere against Bristol Rovers. The whoscored stats say he touched the ball 5 times and had 4 shots at goal. The Tranmere match report says: "Cook colleges over the bar from a James Vaughan cross".

He will be back on our bench next season unless we can claw back the estimated £150k fee we paid Walsall, can't see that happening.
