So we should've trained Dempster to lie? Or twist the truth? I'm sure there are many other ways we could've helped him that would've been more beneficial than 'media training'

Where's the lie? Assistants give advice all the time. It's the managers decision if he makes the suggested change or not. So there's no lie. Basically in game number 1 of the season Dempster essentially publicly stated mthat his tactics didn't work and Glover had to bail him out. That gets you zero respect from the players. Or maybe they were too knackered to notice?
