More environmentally friendly than building a new stadium.

is this stadium gonna be on or close to t'M5? It'd be a bit like us building a new ground out at Junc 28 which'd go down like a lead balloon on here. Idoubt I'd hanker to visit it with all the faffing about. I hope we never leave t'Mill.

We'll never leave the mill.

But there is an opportunity to do something quite small and sleek on the Bishop Street stand.

Something a bit more architecturally interesting than the banal, plain North stand and QLE.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

yes. Not far from the Stonehouse Travelodge, for anyone who has stayed there.

ha ha. No it isn't. It lacks a food shop and somewhere reasonable to eat.

My chopper is very environmentally unfriendly, but then again I haven't had a bath in 2 months.

Nothing plain & banal about the North Stand when the home fans are in there. :mexican_wave: :mexican_wave:

Particularly when they’re munching on a good old fashioned meat pie and guzzling on a reconstituted beef based drink.

A totally wooden stadium?

Did Bradford not teach us anything?

Yes. Make sure if you build with wood it's properly treated with fire raspberry chemicals, don't dump 30 years worth of litter under it ad ban smoking.

Veggies say normal people have a phobia of them, whilst demanding we comply with their beliefs.

Try and buy a meat pie at Forest Green - no chance, a veggie has decided we have to be veggie because he is.

Yet at the wonk we have to satisfy his dietary requirements.

But it’s us that have a problem

Exactly. They impose their beliefs on others yet expect others to respect their beliefs. Insufferable as I said.

If the statium lasts 50 years then it locks in the carbon for 50 year. Plus a green field site so no more room for burping, f**ting cows to graze.

A few solar panels on the roof to heat the pies and the jobs a good one.

Merry Christmas.

Posted on Linkedin by the CEO of Forest Green, for those interested. Looks like they have plans to be in the Championship.

There were some pictures below it but I can’t post those.

‘Last night was historic for Forest Green Rovers - and Gloucestershire, and the UK, and the world :) We were granted outline planning permission for the world’s first all-wooden stadium. We’re already known as the “world’s greenest football club” by FIFA, but the sustainability of this structure is next level. It will be sad to leave our current home but this move is the solution that will help us reach and cope with Championship football. Plus it’s rather beautiful.’

Mind went straight back to the Bradford fire .

R.I.P

On wiki it says this

The disaster led to rigid new safety standards in UK stadiums, including the banning of new wooden grandstands. It was also a catalyst for the substantial redevelopment and modernisation of many British football grounds within the following thirty years.

:?: :?: I don't know how this has been allowed to go ahead , it may be brand new now but what about 50-60 years down the road when things start to deteriorate .
I don't know if the ruling as changed on building wooden stadium but strange how its been allowed to go ahead.

I suspect it’s the first all wooden stadium in that there be many stadiums that have wood but this is solely wood.
