Lighten up you humourless dimwit, the wink and laugh emojis clearly made it a joke.

Time will tell if he is, it's not a given. I feel many on here would've called Sooty n Sweep a fantastic appointment if they'd come with them being so desperate to see the back of JD.

Gonna keep my powder dry till I see what Coggy's got. He's one target for me and that's to get us safe. Anything more is a bonus.

I said to JD at start of t'season, 'make us proud'. He couldn't.

Your turn Graham... good luck.

With you all the way on the sentiments expressed above

If we wait for Bristol Rovers to make an appointment who wants to bring in his own backroom staff we might not have to pay any compensation? Might be a factor in their thinking

For the short term, however, it looks as if they are staying put.

Looks as though GC is using the Christmas period to sound out where the club are personnel wise. Players and staff will get a chance to prove themselves and then any changes needed will come in January.

Interesting really given he's only manager 29 more matches than Dempster.

A 44% win ratio (I know you love a stat Musings) suggests so far (In a league higher) that GC has far more success than JD could have managed, even given another 29 games

Quite right, I wasn't suggesting that Dempster should've been given more time, just the difference in the personalities and authority Coughlan seems to have when he is also a rookie.

I'm still slightly worried by the underlying numbers but we'll see what he can do.

Yes, but so has Glover, and again you wouldn't say they are comparable in how they come across.

Brizzle Rovers have appointed former Crystal Palace and West Brom coach, Ben Garner, as Graham Coughlin's replacement on a 2.5 year contract.

"The 39-year-old former West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace first-team coach has signed a two-and-half-year contract at Rovers, who are fourth in League One. He succeeds Graham Coughlan, who resigned to take over at League Two Mansfield Town last week. It is Garner's first role as a manager, although he was heavily linked to taking over at Bradford City in 2018."

"Ben was the outstanding candidate for the role and someone who really stood out to us during the interview process," Rovers' chief executive Martyn Starnes told the club website. "He has a wealth of experience in the game and we look forward to supporting him is his role here at the club. Ben has a great record of working with younger players and we are keen for the close ties between the first-team and academy to be expanded further, showcasing a pathway for young players."
