Violent conduct eh? Looking at the photos I thought it was for making little football pyramids during the game?

Modern football is not as much fun as it used to be.

As current Fred Master, I would like to announce that the shear pressure of it all is just too much to take (go tell the marines).

Following a suggestion for the title of the thread for the next match, I have decided to relinquish the crown and name the source of the suggestion as my successor. That poster is none other than our very own Johnny Rotten (cue the round of deafening applause).

Here's Johnny!!!!!!!!!

You cannot chicken out before a ball been kicked, should we win, you carry the mantel.

I'm merely following the examples of King Edward VIII and Pope Benedict VXI who both gave way to better contenders and things were improved as a result. :D :D

The truth is that I cannot dedicate the time until May as our unbeaten run will last until after the playoffs. Additionally I will have the distinction of being the only Fred Master to retire undefeated :D Please note that I am confident that we will win on Saturday and I will henceforth be known as Super Sandy. Anyone suggesting Sad Sandy will be shot at dawn.

Please afford Johnny every facility to allow him to carry on the good work.

Thank you and God Bless all who sail in you (or something like that).

Sad Sandy :)

Mad as a box of frogs!

Scorefredding (if such a verb exists) carries such great responsibility of position that resignation is not an option, As soon as submit is clicked, your fevered rants, ravings, intelligent thoughts (often sadly missing on Stagsnet) take hold of the hopes, fears, anticipations, drunken boasts, childhood unfulfilled dreams of Stags Fans (and Dan) both young and old. You cannot walk away from this responsibility lightly, you cannot turn off your phone and erase from your mind the thoughts of the starting line up, score line, Dempster’s formations, the meeting points and waterholes of the travelling faithful or home fan hoards.

Once a scorethread is started you have to see it through, no matter how many wins or draws, great performances or flukey winning cross shots until the defeat that sets you free from this burden.

Abdication is not an option Sandy Pate Best Stag, death or defeat are the only ways out. It may have been an option for the King if England or a Pope of Hitler Youth training but their positions don’t carry the responsibility that scorethreading does.

Sadly, I expected better of you.

Just got home from my night shift. Quick shower and change and straight to the pub ready for the coach to Shropshire!

Come on Stags, let's have a big third round tie to cheer us all up!

Ordinarily I would have been, as Stoney, chomping at the bit to attend and witness us ensure that our numbered ball is the bag for Monday evening’s draw. A numbered ball that some has been ex-Premier League journeyman would hopefully pull us out at home against the likes of the Titans of this business they call modern football.

However, I am out in Notts this evening to watch the shambolic yet highly entertaining Happy Monday’s (yep there is a connection between my music likes and football likes). And this throws up four scenarios for five pm; rushing back from Shrewsbury with the sense of elation and third round wonderings; rush back pissed off that we have capitulated in true Dempster style kicking myself that I will be sober for the gig when I could have been half drunk in Notts; in a bar in Notts kicking myself for not going as Cook towers home the all important winner or drowning my footballing dreams for another season as the results roll thinking to myself I told you so.

I hope it is the third, I really hope so as nothing would please me more but alas I think it will the the fourth.

So to all those that are going, god speed to you all and I hope that you have something to cheer.

Come on lads!

Give a performance we can be proud of - we’ve been waiting so very very long for one.

Looks a gorgeous day. Few beers before. Don’t let us down!

Might be because it 5 hours before kick off?

Correct about iFollow as I posted above. The game is not on TV anywhere.

So it is commentary only.

Sat on Chesterfield Station as Northern Fail have cancelled again due to slippery rails. Will be late meeting up with the other 2 grumpy old men for bacon butties before setting off to Shrewsbury

I will be listening today. I’ve been to most away games this year but a bad cold for me and my son, recent poor
performances and a pain in the xxxx journey means I won’t be going. I too will be kicking myself if we win.

You can tell how disillusioned we all are just from the fact that nobodies posted the starting 11 in the scorethread yet.

A good starting 11 with a strong bench.
2-1 the Stags and a cracking 3rd round draw to give us some hope in January.
