It would be incredible if the board let this go on. Surely you can’t ignore it when it gets to this stage?

Even if the next manager is not appointed straight away I genuinely believe we will benefit from having the current management removed. The entire mindset would shift going in to Saturday.

The other issue that needs to be remembered is that the new manager has to have the personality and football contacts to bring in players who want to play for him and come to Mansfield. I said right at the start that Dempster would struggle in this area in the future despite CR getting Andy Cook and Nicky Maynard.

Rumours about the state of the club will have circulated and can you really see anyone except last chance saloon guys coming in January if Dempster is still here.

Messrs Jones and Tisdale would open a lot of doors.

We'll possibly be 20th in the table on Saturday evening.... Surely at this stage, after 20 games that has to be it?!

If we were a few points off the playoffs and putting in decent performances you'd say yeah give him time and let him build for the future but we're a million miles from even that.

But who'd come even then to a struggling relegation threatened team other than journey men and last pay day boys. The better players will be wanting to fighting at the top end of table not bottom. Unless silly money was offered why would they come? Not just for the pleasure of playing for PT or NJ

Some truth there Spiritater but players do play for, and have trust in, certain coaches and they would believe that under PT or NJ the only way is up in the future

Stop dreaming about Jones. Tisdale may be achievable. The longer this goes on, the less of an attractive proposition we become.

No chance. He will be top of every League One teams list and some Championship teams. I listened to an interview he did this week. He doesn't think his stock has fallen that much. There's no way he is going to big Championship/lower prem club to League Two.

Jones will never come here, he's better off waiting for a decent League 1 job to come up. Tisdale, i'm still not 100% on. Don't think he'd be a good fit here at all. His style of management would not sit well with our support i don't think.

God knows who after that.

We don't need loads of players in just a manager that knows what yo do with the talented players we have. 4th last season. Add 2 proven goalscorers. Quality of league nowhere near as good as last season. Swindon go from mid table to top with one loan signing. Sorry to keep banging on but Flitcroft would have this squad top 3 easily.

How about swallowing some pride, admitting that mistakes were made and get DF back....Not gonna happen but would be interesting to see what a difference he’d make.

How do we not know that the hold up in sacking JD is not down to sorting out the contract of another manager. JD might have already been told as much in these alleged meetings.

DF made a criminal mistake in not getting us promoted when he had two of the best chances we've had in bloody years.

And in addition the football we were playing from County away onwards was well below the required standard. It wasn't attractive and there was no urgency apart from the odd game. Yes he had a purple spell of about 4 months but that was it. The rest was average at best. No thanks.

The board were correct in sacking flitcroft - he had about 6 chances to get promoted and bottled it each and everytime.

However, the board were wrong to promote dempster

Absolutely. We went from playing some great attacking football to the complete opposite. I don't understand how that happened. Wasn't the second half of the season relegation form? Anyway we need to move forward and not backwards!

So with hindsight you are still pleased we got rid of DF? I’m not. Wasn’t at the time, still not.

What's not to say we'd be in the same position in the table as we are now even if DF was still manager. Look at the form from January, he couldn't stop the slide in April & May, why do people think he would've stopped it now? We were always going to lose Tyler Walker, signing Maynard & Cook were two of the best signings made by any club at the time in our league, I'm not sure what more DF could do. Granted the football may have been a bit better (probably not much as it had started to go downhill anyway) but apart from that?

Thing is dan, even though we didn't get over the line with poor form with DF and the squad last season, those poor performances are streets ahead of what we are being dished up now.
