Grimsby have gone about it sensibly. They took their time and ended up appointing a top manager.

I am sure they have appointed a high profile manager but am not convinced that he remains a top manager. He hasn't had longevity in recent jobs and it could be argued that he is on a downward curve in line with so many managers who took a club to greatness early in their managerial career.
Quite happy we didn't end up with him

Ditto, he will not last 12 months. When brizzy rovers job comes up again he will be gone.

If any of you want to see an insight into Ian Holloway go to utube and type in The Truth about football management ... it's over an hour long but a very good watch .... I think you will see the reason for the Grimsby shares thing.

Also selling up and moving into the area doesn't to me sound like he has taken this decision lightly

Many clubs own property for players and managers to rent. Lincoln own several houses in Grantham to attract signings as it is on the A1 and East Coast main line.

Chris Sutton and Ian Pearce shared a house near us when they were the management team and John Akinde now lives in it.

I’m sure Holloway can easily afford to buy a house in Grimsby without a mortgage lol.
