Carolyn's current thoughts on Dempster and irate fans

Postby Chadman » Wed Nov 06, 2019 9:02 am

Stags CEO gives her current thoughts over the manager's position, her and John Radford's passion for the club, and the abuse directed at them as well as John Dempster by irate fans over social media - another good read from Carolyn . . . .

Not reading it, fed up with her "hey look at me" comments.

It all seems very desperate. She now says that she expects this years FA Cup to be a springboard to league success like it did in 2012/2013. Does this mean he’ll be sacked if we lose to Chorley? It won’t end up being much of a springboard if we win and end up getting someone like Fleetwood away in the 2nd round

Great.

So it's Dempster until we are 'out of sight' of promotion.

Pinning her hopes on another 2012/13 Paul Cox style season turnaround.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

If she wants to avoid getting trolled on twitter, simply stop posting pictures of herself and stick to posts about the business at hand i.e. the actual running of the football club.

If she sticks to the latter then 90% of the static she's currently getting would stop. She should take a leaf out of JRs book.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Anybody else note that she doesn't once refer to the manager by name nor congratulate or directly support him....only by the indirect reference of nurturing talent.

A bit of a light weight one from Carolyn in my view.
Not sure what Paris has to do with League 2 and slugging it out in gloomy Walsall etc

Agree not much solid Dempster support... all very veiled.

I think saying the cup will be a springboard is for the birds this season.

We had turned a corner last time......

Happy to limp through the season with JD in a win a few lose a few draw a few if this is what they think they should do to nurture him but they will lose a few fans over this and numbers for games will drop to 3,000 and bit ish.

Still have faith though in JR and CR but I think they really feel they need to see JD out this season and my impression is that although its not great its not a Titanic sinking yet but that iceberg keeps bobbing about off the starboard bow especially at home.

People on here were saying they wanted to hear from the owners ,now they have ,although in truth CR isn,t saying much ,but i don't think she is saying JD is on borrowed time either :mtfc:

The only thing to learn from this is
1 look at me (e.g. i went on a jet set trip to Paris)
2 the manager has still got our backing. Jimstag opinion: I agree it takes them time to implement things, I’m not sure I can see what JD’s vision is here. E.g. I could see a style of play and brand with flitcroft even if we did muck it up.
3 because if point 2 fans need to reset their expectations and not meltdown all the time.
The issue I have is this really a weekly or monthly thing? It’s pretty much the same narrative as the last and will probably only change if either our fortunes turn around or we change manager.

That was literally all I gathered from it. Her and John flew in for the game then went on a romantic weekend away in Paris. Cheers for that Carolyn.

It's so embarrassing it's untrue. Are we supposed to be buoyed by the idea that beating the Conference's bottom club could be a 'springboard' ( ) for this season? Straight idiocy.

So in short that’s stating we’re not going to attempt getting promotion this season.

She'd better get in the Rolls and fetch him back from Kettering then.

She can post what ever she wants... its people making daft comments that need to grow up.

Its clear they've made a decision and will stick with JD until he completely fails or gets us there... I just feel like the long term manager we should have gone with is now at Bolton.

‘Most successful managers are given time to succeed’
Well the previous incumbent got us to play offs and was building something.
Pity they didn’t give him a little more time to succeed and not give a knee jerk reaction to the play off defeat

I agree that she can post what she wants and some comments are unwarranted, but a bit of social awareness wouldn’t go amiss. When tensions are high off the back of a loss it’s probably not the best time to post photos posing with cryptic messages added 30 minutes after the final whistle, it’s just a bit unnecessary and provides a platform for people to have a dig when they’re wound up that they’ve just spent £24 (ticket alone) to watch us get turned over again. I’m not advocating any daft comments at all the record, they do a lot of good for our club of course, but maybe lying low when we’ve been beat would be a better way to go about it in my opinion.

Good piece, basically saying what all rational people know. They are good people with feelings too and have put their heart, soul and finances into the club. We are very fortunate.

Anyone who sends abuse their way really need to take a long hard look at themselves.

I was taking the column seriously until the photographs appeared. If you to have a photograph posted with the article Carolyn please be sat behind a desk looking studious not like you really want to appear in a 1980’s Duran Duran video.
