It was the 4th time I have watched a full Macclesfield game this season. They seem to start strongly in the 1st half and then run out of steam.

Bit like us in that respect, minus the strong start

Too true

Southend & Macclesfield given EFL charge for failing to pay players
BBC.co.uk

Southend United and Macclesfield Town have both been charged with misconduct by the English Football League for failing to pay their players on time.

League One Southend face another charge for fielding an ineligible player in their game with Lincoln on 1 February.

Macclesfield have also been referred to an independent disciplinary commission, having already been charged for failing to fulfil two fixtures this season.

Macclesfield Town charged with misconduct for non-payment of players
efl.com

Macclesfield Town has been issued with a further misconduct charge for failing to pay a number of players on the applicable payment dates due in February 2020.

The Club has therefore been referred to an independent Disciplinary Commission for failing to adhere to the terms of the players’ contracts.

As this matter is now subject to proceedings, the EFL will be making no further comment at this time.

makes you wonder two things;

a) how were Macclesfield able to resist our approach for the centre half given their financial basis?
b) why did a player who had interest from a stable club, that could prbably pay more and be relied upon to pay, not want to push the move through?

very wierd.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Think they’ll reprieve Stevenage

Such a shame that the efl didn’t dish out the same
punishment to bury last year

I hate Bury. Their cheating with finance robbed us.

How many warnings do they need? If they make it to the end of the season what guarantees do they need to put in place for next year? Legally what could the EFL do if they weren’t satisfied that this won’t continue?

Not sure it's Bury I hate but the owner and so many more who have dragged clubs down to oblivion.
How lucky we really are is an understatement.

Losing to Stevenage at home robbed us but that's football and another thread.

Hate to say it but I miss the cheats and bed wetters days out and you can only blame the owners.
Our demise was down to he who can't be mentioned, our revival was down to John and Carolyn.

Give over man, we threw it away because we were a bunch of gutless, clueless pansies in the run in.

Not as much as it cheated their fans. I have sympathy for them, but not the owners.

But did we approach Macclesfield for that lumbering oaf of a centre half?

He's no better than Preston, on recent viewings he's always looked out of position and short of pace.

If he's the best that is available then I'll stick with The Chief.

Macclesfield have had their points deduction reduced from six to four points.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.
