Great win!

Maynard is fantastic, play to his strengths and he will score for fun. Loved seeing Knowles take the penalty, he looks a special talent.

Massive well done to the Oldham fans, they were outstanding, you wouldn’t have known which side were 6-1 down.

An excellent result and performance.

We actually looked like we knew what we were doing - a performance from the drawer of most of last season.

The delivery and execution for the first goal was an absolute delight, we were cruising before the 2 sendings off - the actual red card just seemed a mirror of Preston’s again Cambridge.

2 wins in 2 and we’ve shown a little light at the end of the tunnel, keep it up

Macca looks much sharper atm. We are definitely improving. What a difference a fit Maynard makes, although I’m not sure he’s even 100% fit yet which bodes very well and that kid Shaughnessy played out of his skin today. Well done lads. COYS

I quick question for Martin Shaw, cos I presume he won't be very busy after that performance. Was there no offsides in the entire game for either side. I can't remember there being one.

Cook needed to step up and get a goal, especially now Danny Rose might be out. Annoyed he didn’t want it.

Or....... Cook is confident enough in his ability to score at this level, that for the benefit of the team, for if Rose is injured Knowles will stay on the bench, and in particular a young man who is just starting out in his career, he let him have his moment with as little pressure on him as was possible.

And I also think that the way all the other subs, and those brought off got off the bench to watch and applaud young Jimmy's penalty shows great unity within the group.

No way was that a penalty by the way, Jimmy must have found a four leaf clover when he was warming up!

Simon brown was the last lad I remember to score a first half hat-Trick against Macclesfield. Unless there’s been once since

Much more tougher opposition to play but another step in the right direction, we actually pressed them in their own half! Unseen this season and that was before the sending offs.

Oldham fans were absolutely fantastic, fair play to them.

Really good performance that was today. Even before the 2 sendings off we were playing some nice stuff and scored 2 brilliantly worked goals.

Very pleased for Maynard to get the goals today, just what he needed. Khan and Shaughnessy were the other stand outs for me as well.

Obviously much tougher tests to come but that should serve as another confidence boost!

the Dempster out crew will be grumpy tonight  ;)

I'm in thr Dempster out crew because we were playing rubbish long ball football. Maybe complaining about the fare on offer got a change. Played lovely passing football and would of beat Oldham with 11. But why does it take people booing before we play that way. If we had turned up in August knocking about in midfield with confidence there would be no Dempster out crew and no 12 point gap to the top of the table. End on a positive. If we keep playing football like that the manager will get my full support, but if we go back to launching it I will criticise him even more now we have proved what we can do.

One reason maybe because we changed formation to a solid 442 for a change

Shaughnessy mom by a mile.

Brilliant football all across the park, despite them having two sent off we already looked miles better and was all over them.

The pass from Shaughnessy for the third goal was unbelievably perfect.

Liked that Dempster was shouting to Logan to keep rolling it out from the back.

Logan not at fault for goal, yes could of pushed it away but two defenders both stood not marking the goalscorer

Well done Pearce for sorting their lad out who looked unconscious

Also thought it was Mal that gave the ball to Jimmy for the pen.

32 shots 12 on target. Passing and attacking football, onwards from here then boys. Well done JD and co

Correct, he went to give it to Cook, Cook refused, so lobbed it to Jimmy.

I wonder what the record is for red cards in Stags games over a whole season.

Didn't get today due to work. What a result!

Was it a 4-4-2 and did Macca play RW?

He did but didn't get forward much. He did play well but thought we looked even better when he went off.

It was Mal Benning who threw the ball to Jimmy Knowles. He then went straight to a slightly disgruntled Cook who appeared to my view to have expected to have been given the ball but accepted the decision.

There’s a video of the Oldham chairman from earlier this week stating “Maynard isn’t pulling up any tree’s at Mansfield and he’s on big money”. 8-)
