Tom Pope will have a field day against our centre halves with the way they have been playing lately.

They seem to want to mark fresh air, so leaving him free is going to be suicidal if they get enough balls into the box.

3-1 to Vale

Stop worrying. CJ at centre half is the solution!

How is Otis Khan not getting in our team?

I'll take any manager that picks him regularly.

JD is already dead. He's been that bad. Rammel even. A win won't save him.

I think we'll lose 2 nil.

Thanks.

Where is this belief coming from all of a sudden that he is going to survive after the Cambridge debacle for heavens sake

My prediction for what he will go with as a starting XI.

Logan

White Pearce Sweeney
Gordon Benning
Bishop Shaughnessy MacDonald
Rose Hamilton

If White isn't fit then Benning at CB. CJ LWB and Dapo(or Cook if fit enough) with Rose.

Personally I'd switch to a back 4. Dempster clearly doesn't seem comfortable with a back 3, yes it served us well last season but isn't doing Jack this season. Time to change it. You don't know how to use it Demps.

Go for:
Logan
White Pearce Sweeney Benning
Gordon Bishop Shaughnessy Khan
Rose Cook

I'm told by a neighbour who supports Derby and attends their reserve and youth games that Gordon has played right back fairly often for them. So if white is not there yet then Gordon at right back and Khan and CJ on the wings, changing sides fairly often. If they stop us crossing them swap wings and try cutting inside. If 2e can get the ball wide and get crosses in I'd expect cook and Rose to have the aerial presence to get on the end of crosses.

Another option at right back is young James Clarke, who looked good in pre season but the standard of opposition isn't exactly much to should about.

2-0 to Burslem. Psycho Preston ordered to sit with the fans, then gets arrested at half time when he launches a unprovoked kung fu styled attack on the tea bar. CJ touches the ball twice. Dempster is "proud of the lads" and "we've got something good going here, its just that its a secret"

Didn’t you disregard Gordon playing at RB when I suggested he started there on Tuesday in a back 4 with White being out? ;) White should definitely start though if he’s properly fit as you say.

Agree, I think a back 4 is the way to go for this one. We may as well try something different. I can see him playing Bishop, Macca and Tomlinson in the middle, so with that in mind i hope it’s a 433.

You are correct I did, I apologise. Its my new neighbours who moved in on Monday. Only spoke to them this morning on my day off. He rated Gordon highly and was disappointed he left.

On a personal level though, whilst I think Gordon does ok defensively, not sure if he's good enough at right back in men's football. But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding so we can't really judge until he's played there.

You would never know that from watching his defending in recent games.

Won't be going to watch the game, even though its not too far away from sunny Stockport. Since Dempster has been in charge, enthusiasm to watch the Stags has hit the empty line.

Dempster's stay of execution
Port Vale 1 Mansfield 3 if Hamilton gets dropped and someone else is put in charge of getting a cross in.
With a bit of luck, Danny Rose will get some service apart from the high ball he is always likely to lose and he can concentrate on his actual job of being a striker and not going into midfield to fetch the ball for himself.

Can’t make today, not too happy about that. (Not a word please Big Yella).

Though I can’t see the demise halting. We have slowly at first but lately gathered momentum in a leaderless, directionless and bereft of tactics way heading towards the bottom of the league. We are a collection of players, good players that don’t seem to play as a team or any direction and that is the source of the ire from many a Stags fan. I would be happy with a draw. Shouldn’t be though, with what we have in the line up I would not be happy with anything less than two nil.

Head say 1 - 0 to the Valiants but my heart and to bookies glee says two nil to ourselves.

Come on Stags, make me rue the day the decision was made that I could not make the game and give Big Yella more ammunition for the next time he sees me.

Having just listened to Drewes interview. I dont think JD will be going reglsrdless of today's result. He was clear he came here because he likes JD...

1 - 1 today. Late goal for us to recuse a point.

I can't make away games so it'll be ifollow in Germany for me. Same as last season before anyone assumes it's because JD is in charge.
