Comments to Dempster.

Postby 88BenM » Wed Sep 18, 2019 5:48 am

Whoever told Dempster to 'F*** off and die.' They need identifying and banning for life. What a disgraceful thing to say to anybody, let alone the manager of the team you support.
I don't think anybody would argue that last nights result has been hurtful to everybody connected to with Stags, but to conduct yourself in such a manner to a bloke that has won a league title and dedicated 7/8 years of his life to this football club is downright shameful.
If you're adamant he should go or even stay, paying your 25 quid or whatever it is on the gate does not entitle you to speak to people like that!

For those that haven't seen Demps' interview, he talks about these comments within it.

If Dempster heard it, people around him must of heard it. This person needs to be identified and banned!

Agree.

Last night i left after the 2nd goal. I was getting increasingly wound up with the abuse.

I couldnt bear to stay and listen to what you could see was going to be a nasty exit for demps.

Mentioning no names, one guy behind the away dugout... just hurling abuse from moment preston was sent off and it wasnt lifestags..

Just commented on this on Facebook. The moron needs identifying and banning for life.

Utterly unacceptable comment.

If they can locate the person agreed that they should face a ban, just because the game or season isn’t going our way doesn’t give fans free reign to say and do what they want.

Didn’t realise the Liberal Democrat’s had a Stags branch.

People of limited intelligence tend to rely on personal abuse, as they have nothing else.

It's not acceptable. You can vent your frustration without sinking to that level.

Not excusing it, but this sort of behaviour is nothing new if football grounds though.

There is a solution to this, well will stop a lot of the abuse. Move the dug outs back to the Bishop Street Stand. Evans wanted the dug outs in front of the West Stand to intimidate the away side’s management. How wrong he was - that definitely came back to bite him, Flitcroft and Dempster.

Or alternatively people, and they know who they are, learn a little restraint.

absolutely boggles my head that certain fans as soon as they step through that turnstile becomes massive bellcaps.

How pathetic must their life be throughout the week that they feel the need to shout/think they have the right to shout that sort of stuff. I can guarantee 99.9% wouldn't say boo to a goose outside the confines of field mill.

I was more upset with Preston's stupidity if im honest. You could tell from the moment he had taken that first touch he was going in recklessly.

People who shout abuse like that are complete morons, cowards and bullies. No decent person would ever say that to a man who has given such good service to this club. They should be exposed and banned.

Expectation for promotion has built up in this club to such an extent that fans are maybe much more critical and vitriolic than they should be
No excuse for that kind of abuse at all and he should be prosecuted and banned for life.
We are all getting wound up a bit this season over the poor start and maybe we need to take a chill pill for a day to think it through more but I do feel that JD is now on very very very thin ice and maybe 2 more games left at most but they would need to both convincing wins and can't see that sadly.

I sat directly behind the home dugout and I endured the whole 8 minutes of injury time.

They were a few things shouted at JD I heard like "Resign John"
"Do the decent thing John "
"This is s&*te "

I did not hear the eff off and die comment...

That's not to say it didnt happen I just didnt hear it...

A few Dempster out chants were heard and I'm afraid once thay start it's the beginning of the end for any manager.

Once you lose the fans you very rarely get them back...

Ask Cox and Murray.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Also sat through injury time (felt like another 90 mins to be honest), and heard similar. Definitely did not hear any personal abuse towards Dempster - I was in the QLE.

Though there weren't many left at that point to give out any abuse!

It’s a very sad situation. JD is a nice guy. Maybe too nice for the role.
