I have been speaking to a respected individual, who is involved in the the pro game currently, no names.

He tells me, his opinion not mine, those players are not AS fit as they should be following a tough pre season.

He was not knocking anyone just answering my question.

After seeing Macca again last night, he looks well overweight and unfit imo.

I once played in a friendly on the pitch, the Sunday prior to the former imperious West being demolished so I think I can lay claim to this accolade!

I agree. The second half at home to Orient proved how much fitter the opposition were compared to us. Makes me wonder whether pre season friendlies against reserve players were a good idea. I read that Bish had commented how easy pre season was compared to last season.

If you can't keep possession of the ball and spend 60% of the game chasing it you will look tated after 70 minutes.

personally I think a lot if not all of these overseas pre seasons have been a waste. We've not achieved anything after doing them so what's the point in having them?

Frank Wignall was similar to Cook.
Dick Edwards was a burly chap too.

Cook didn't strike me as being over weight but I'm not looking for an excuse to find another player to slate nor looking for an excuse to blame every man and his dog for this poor start

March 2009 we played Lewes in the league with a centre half pairing of Guy Butters and Danny Cullip. They remain the fattest professional footballers I have ever seen play in my life. Butters' shorts looked like lycra they were so tight. They were also able to combat Holdsworth's brand of football and we only won one nil.
They made Danny Reet look anorexic

I’ve seen Cook play for all of his previous clubs except Walsall & this is the slimmest I’ve seen him.

I thought this, he didn't look that big...

Also I think it was in the FA cup a goal he scored where he bellied it into the corner... proper big striker, we need to play him.
