The next 2 games if we get a point we'll do remarkably well which takes us to negative points to games played.
Then from Jan 28 to feb 11 we play Carlisle at ome and Oldham, Morecambe and orient away .All massive 6 pointers, all pressure games, and knowing that our lot can't handle pressure/expectation or a big occasion it will be a massive period. If we take anything less than 5 points from those 4 we'll need a parachute. Note also everyone below has games in hand, win/draw them and the gaps close.
Make no mistake about it we are in trouble. Confidence - zero, bottle - zero and trouble at t'Mill.

Everyone said that when we did go down.... with the worst home form in the league the wins need to start soon.

Big night for us tomorrow without even playing, with Morecambe and Stevenage both playing their game in hand on us. Both at home in games they will fancy a chance of getting something even though they’re not up to much themselves.

In the event that they both win, that would leave us just 6 points above the bottom which is nothing, particularly when our next 2 fixtures are Plymouth away where we never get anything, and Bradford at home (we all know the drill at home). Once you’re dragged in it’s difficult to break out of it, particularly when confidence is so low and the manner of the last 2 defeats could really have an impact on the squad.

We need some new faces sharpish because it’s difficult to see a way forward with this midfield and defence. 1 win in our last 11 league games (which was against 10 men), it will start to catch up with us sooner or later if we don’t buck our ideas up.

I think pretty much everyone thought we'd go down - we were also in the relegation zone for long periods of that season also - added to the fact 2 teams went down and only 1 go down this season.

Fair enough - it's right to not bury the head in the sand - this season is a spectacular failure all-round, however it would take a stretch of the imagination to say we're realistically in a relegation battle currently as we aren't.

Current Table
PLD..W...D...L...PTS...PPG
28....6...9...13...27....0.96

Required for 51 Points
PLD..W...D....L...PTS...PPG
18....8...0...10....24...1.33
18....7....3...8....24....1.33
18....6....6...6....24....1.33
18....5....9...4....24....1.33
18....4...12..2....24....1.33
18....3...15..0....24....1.33

Stags current PPG of 0.96 over a season would see us finish with 44 points
In 2007/08 we were relegated from the Football League with 42 points

We've got the worst home record in the division, PPG 0.71
Note, the season we were relegated from the Football League, 2007/08, our HOME PPG was 0.875.

Only Morecambe have conceded more League goals than Stags this season!

IF the League 2 teams current form of the last 12 games is repeated in the next 12 games, then this League Table would be as below,

.....................PLD...PTS
Orient.............39.....35
Macclesfield.... 38.....34 (deducted 6 points)
STAGS............40.....34
Morecambe.....40.....34
Stevenage......40.....32

To finish mid-table, 13th (bottom half) last season was 64 points, we would need another 37 points, averaging 2.05 points per game, which is better than the League Champions from over the last 3 seasons!

PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
18....12...1..5....37....2.05
18....11...4..3....37....2.05
18....10...7..1....37....2.05

Quite, one guy reckons we'll even make 12th. Ithought about betting him a tenner but it'd be pinching money

Not that bothered where we fin or the points as long as we stay up and drag over the line somehow.
Was happy with mid to low table mediocrity with what has transpired this season but the drop was never on many people lips...eeekkkk
Lose another couple and its going to be a battle royal!!

Macclesfield have the toughest run-in based on their opponents HOME/AWAY PPG.

..................Opposition PPG
Macclesfield.........1.43
Stevenage...........1.41
Oldham...............1.38
Orient.................1.35
STAGS................1.29
Carlisle...............1.28
Morecambe..........1.26

We’d need to win a minimum of 13 from our remaining 17 games , drawing 3 and only losing 1.

Any less than 13 wins and we can’t hit 72 points. It’s not happening, but hopefully we can have a decent run and build a bit of momentum going in to next season and get the fans up for it again.

So you are saying winning 14 out of 17 remaining will get us into play offs.

Go for it, lads.

Calm down pete, too much expectation. Win another 6/7 on the trot and even I'd get excited.

Current Table
PLD..W...D...L...PTS...PPG
31....7..10..14...31...1.00

Required for 51 Points
PLD..W...D....L...PTS...PPG
15....6....2...7....20....1.33
15....5....5...5....20....1.33
15....4....8...3....20....1.33
15....3...11..1....20....1.33

Stags current PPG of 1.00 over a season would see us finish with 46 points
In 2007/08 we were relegated from the Football League with 42 points
Stags worst season points total since returning to the EFL was 48 points in 2014/15

Stags HOME PPG is 0.875, which is identical to the 2007/08 relegation season.

Only Morecambe have conceded more League goals than Stags this season!

IF Stags won all their remaining 15 games we would finish on the same number of points as last season, 76 :D

Where’s its unlikely I think we should all treat the possible threat of relegation with the respect it deserves.

This side is one of the worst league sides I’ve ever see , and we need to be secure before we more on.

We are already safe even though needing 14 points mathematically. Stevenage has no chance to win all 10 remaining games.

Agreed, like what dearden did the season before we went up.

I can’t see many of the current side being here next season, but I can see us doing well next term

I'm sure we are safe. Stevenage are unbelievably poor.

We definitely need a run of good results to give hope for next season.

Ive a feeling we won't be shedding as many players as a lot of fans are expecting.
