I don't know, but presumably midweek. Otherwise we won't be able to prepare properly for the Saturday match so effectively we'll have been punished.
We've suffered from other incidents where the ref has admitted not actually seeing it, so it would be good to redress the balance a little. I don't think that a referee has to actually see an incident. If the victim's team captain is on good terms and the spectators are livid enough the ref will give the red card.
I expect the decision will be upheld as the camera angle isn't ideal, and it's only Mansfield anyway.

After watching the video I can't think that the refs decision will be upheld.Bowman should receive a red card not Sweeney.

Now give the manager a bit of slack over discipline.

Bowman should get a 3 match ban instead. The man is a cheat/wimp. Delete as appropriate.

If there is any justice he should be given a three match ban.
Hopefully after his ban he will think again before repeating this stunt!

Could do him for bringing the game into disrepute? Seeking to gain an advantage by being a cheat? Hope he plays here.

Sometimes decisions like this can turn fortunes around, maybe like a "them and us mentality", i would love the team to use this as a springboard to go on a run, gets some points on the board and settle down.

I don't think it's possible to retrospectively punish a player for diving.

If there isn't a proccess for players who try to benefit by cheating to he punished then there should be.
We had to play part of the game with ten men and could have lost a player for 3 games. Teams and players that cheat should be punished otherwise they will continue to transgress.
Its a bit like when white had his leg broken but no action taken against offender. This adversely affected our season.

The FA announced the introduction of the new offence in May to deal with cases where there is "clear and overwhelming evidence to suggest a match official has been deceived by an act of simulation, and as a direct result, the offending player's team has been awarded a penalty and/or an opposing player has been dismissed".

When you look at the three sending offs only Preston really warranted a dismissal. Melli’s was very very soft and Sweeney as shown was just ridiculous

Mellis' sending off, whatever your opinion of the incident and however dubious, it was a red to some people. Giving the ref a decision to make by doing something like that is the problem whatever your thoughts on whether it was a sending off or not.

Preston's sending off was a sending off, no doubt.

2 players involved in an incident in Mansfield town center in the early hours of the morning less than 2 days before a league game. One of those players was fined the maximum amount by the club, the other has been sacked.

Now please explain to me, considering the above, how Sweeney's red card being rescinded means that there are no longer any questions or concerns regarding the discipline of JD's squad.

How can Dempster be held accountable on two players going out on the razz on a Thursday night? They might have curfews but that isn't gonna stop them anyway is it unless you want Dempster to tuck them in at night and keep a watch over them...

I don’t know which is worse...the ref not seeing the incident and issuing a red card...or him seeing the incident and feeling it deserved the red card.

Either way what on earth was he thinking. Let’s hope Bowman gets the three match ban instead.

Would love to see a rule introduced so any team that has a player feigning injury that results in a red card for the opposition being rescinded ,that they are penalised any points won in the game and given to the opposition

it's nothing to do with MTFC. You'd have thought the commission would have considered it. Maybe more will come out.
