I'm with the club on this.

You want full away commentry then purchase IFolllow, if not be grateful, as I am, for the scraps that come your way.

I've had conversations with Tony Delahunty about broadcastibg Stags games and he convinced me that his listeners prefer music to listening to two hours of commentry on a Saturday afternoon.

A handful of us on here (or maybe a silent majority?) think the club are taking us for a ride. How can anyone in their right mind think that not having free away coverage is actually good for the fans?
Plus this is not the first time the club have turned down Radio Nottingham coverage, so absolutely no wonder they give far more more coverage to County. Why wouldn't they?
I'm personally getting tired of the over-commercialism around football, huge player wages and ludicrous Division 4 gate prices, ifollow fees etc... you can only squeeze a lemon so much before folk start to look elsewhere. If we have a shocker of a season how many pay-on-the-day fans are going to stump up £25? I get the feeling that Notts County may the first of a series of a dominoes to fall

Mansfield Town Football Club is a commercial enterprise not a free charity to entertain people who do not want to pay for the priivalige of following them. Try going to the cinema and seeing if you can just watch the less popular films for free and see what they say. After all there will be loads of empty seats for those films and they will have to show them anyway so what harm would it do?

If you want entertainment then you have to pay, it really is that simple. The BBC obviously don't want to pay as much as Radio Mansfield for the same rights, so should the club turn the better offer down so that non paying customers can get a better service? No I don't think so either.

Also if the entrance fee is too much you have the right not to pay it but don't expect to get in for nothing and don't forget you can't sit at home and listen to full commentary for free either as the club have made a few extra bob by not selling to the Beeb at a knock down price.

Most league teams have BBC radio coverage for away games. We seem to be the exception. I think someone posted that the amount the BBC pay is a set amount. So why can't those who can't afford the away days have the benefit of radio coverage? It won't affect the amount the club gets at home games. Seems short sighted to me.

It's 90 pence a week for every single game, both home and away, with video highlights and occasional friendly videos thrown in too. I don't know what your vice is (if any) but round London way that's a mouthful of beer or mouthful of coffee. Seems like a small price to me.

I totally understand why you have it. My point is most clubs have the benefit of BBC radio for away games, why not us.

So where do they listen to their music?

It certainly isn't on Mansfield 103.2. :D
