It's the exact same everywhere he goes. I'm not sure what his expectations are this season, are Gillingham going to be pushing for promotion? He'll be wanting to sign another 10 players in January and will be sidelined for half the season despite 'trying to keep a lid on it'.

Bet he won't see the season out. He hasn't been 'successful' anywhere for a while now.

I tend to agree. His managerial "methods" have been left behind.

Yet Bobby, many on here are of the opinion, he would have achieved promotion with us, if he hadn't walked away.

Personally I'd have rated our chances of promotion at about 60% before he legged it.

I still maintain he had greatest freedom of budget, given that DF was stuck with injured/unwanted players hoovering up wedges of moulah. All in the past now though.

Lets see what happens in February, and whether he tries to do another Marco Polo and scarper East! ;)
If i look in pain it's because i'm thinking

Steve Evans is odds on favourite to take over at Doncaster. You couldn’t make it up!

He didn't have a price a few hours ago. Somebody knows something.

He shows zero loyalty or class.

To not have a price then to go in odds on favourite I’d definitely agree someone knows something

Yes. Bookies don't have a Scooby Do when it comes to lower league football. Just takes a couple of people to put on a bet and the odds change. But it doesn't mean the people putting the bet on know either.

Seems a bit strange though wouldn't you agree Martin? Why would somebody randomly request to bet on Evans becoming manager when he hasn't even been mentioned and he is new in the post at Gillingham.

Whenever a lower league job comes up, he is always in the frame according to the bookies. How many times did it happen just in his time at us...

From memory he wasn't linked to any jobs after being with us after one month in the job. Later on after he had started winning games etc. Yes.

It'll be someone who thinks he'll get some decent return by doing it. When a manager isn't listed you can usually get really high odds so if the bookies offered him, say, 50/1, he might've put a decent lump sum on Evans or he's put a few smaller ones on which would take Evans to the top position if there's not been many bets for others. Chances are not many people would have a clue so wouldn't waste their money betting on any of the other candidates.

I thought Donny were a better club than to associate with Evans. If he's prepared to walk out on Gillingham before a single game in charge, it would show what a complete tool he is. That alone should make the Donny chairman think twice.

I would have thought that with JR having close connections with Donny that he would have given them enough hands on background and heads up should they ever be interested in Humpty Dumpty.

But that's the point, Donny have not associated themselves with Evans. It's the bookies that have done that.
