I can respect that football is a game of opinions and that everyone's interpretation of the retained list will be different. But I can't for the life of me understand how people think it's all red and rosey just because the retained list says exactly what we knew before, that the majority of players are under contract. Players who are under contract can still leave for a fee.
As one poster has already said, a big indicator of the strength of the budget/pull of the manager will be measured in the replacement for Walker and CJ if he ends up going as well.

So with current personnel and I know CJ will probably go but if we started with a fully fit squad tomorrow to optimise Hamilton and Khan you could go
Olejnik
White Pearce Sweeney / Preston Benning
Bishop Tomlinson
McDonald Khan Hamilton
Rose / Davies
If you can make a Danny Hylton type that front man all the better but if that was our starting line up I would have no complaint.
Don't see the big budget or crisis flap. Long way to go until August but we need to give it a bit of time.

Sorry to say we won't be challenging for anything with that strike force.
Rose isn't a goal scorer, he's proven that. Don't know enough about Davies but he doesn't seem a 20+ striker from the little I have seen of him.

Not necessarily needed, Lincoln didn't have one.

It's a shame Ajose is so badly down on confidence, he made things happen up front and got in some unselfish assists.
Always liked Hemmings 14 goals and 3 assists in a bottom 2, relegated, now non-league team, shower of raspberry like Counteh.
Obviously there's others out there out of contract

I'll pass. it took him about 8 good chances for him to bag one
he also missed a lot of sitters. not a terrible player, but I'd go for someone else

Whatever fee we get for CJ must without doubt go on 2 forwards
Rowe at Fylde
Hylton at Luton
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Agree, any fee’s have to be spent on the strikers. We’ve got 40 goals to replace with Walker and probably CJ leaving. Would absolutely love to get Danny Hylton, he’s exactly what you need at this level. Whether we can attract him to the club or not is a different matter, would take big money.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s good strikers that get you out of the lower divisions!!!

To have a strikeforce with that extra lethality needed to progress the club does not involve signing Hemmings. Too many chances needed to score. I'm afraid if he'd have been leading our line this season we'd have struggled to even make the playoffs.

Reuben Reid is out of contract/released and could make a good second striker. I think we would still need a main man but Rueben is always worth a goal or penalty.

we've taken punts on non league strikers in Palmer, Yussuf, Sterling-James and none of them have come up any good. I would hope we would try to sign a proven league goalscorer like hylton.

Hylton is a gun for hire, whoever pays the most he will sign
the pantomime villain every opposition fan loves to hate as he smashes the winning goal from a dodgy penalty foul lol
Our time will come

I would still take him. You love him when he's yours, hate him when he's against you.
Has scored loads of goals at this level and has been promoted from this level. There'll be loads of teams trying to get his signature.

I see Iyrwah Gooden is another U21 to be released. He previously played for Ipswich and Colchester.

Where are you finding this Tippy?
The club are useless on informing us of youth and backroom staff departures.

You'd expect a youth teamer having been in and around the first team for as long as he has now would have had more of a chance.
Thats probably the point. They rate blake higher than hakeem (different positions i know), and Hakeem hadnt progressed enough during his loan stints.
He was always going this season
What's happening with Nyle Blake? He's not named on the list. Anyone know?

The clubs coverage of the under 21 and 18s is bordering on useless.
The youth team profiles on the main website won’t be updated for another five months and hardly any of them have a bio about them.
Even timi Elsnik and Calum Butcher still play for us apparently.
Tbh the main websites a joke, not very organised and you can tell it’s not taken seriously at the club.
