But it won't be you paying the price, it will be Mr and Mrs Radford. They aim to make this club sustainable, the only way that can happen is if we promote youth. The RHA is millions of pounds worth of investment to add to the already heavily invested work the youth team do at Brooksby. These aren't just for show, they're for a better and brighter future.

read my post again youth, “league games” happy to support cup games 100% if they shine in them less risk, no price to pay Ben

I don't think you're grasping the point I'm trying to make. So, you're happy for the youth players to get possibly 1 League Cup, 1 FA cup and 3 FL Trophy appearances? So 5 appearances in total to 'shine'.

Radford could throw in a lots more money at the playing squad, sign tons of expensive experienced pros and still manage to fall short. Does that sound familiar?
Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.

Time to give youth a chance.

If the youth lads are good enough then they should play. And by good enough, it doesn't mean good 'for a youth player', it means good enough to be a member of a squad who's aim is to get promoted.

I understand the sentiment of wanting to include youth as much as possible, but they simply have to be good enough, and if they're not, they should not be anywhere near the first team. Same goes for anyone who's a senior player that isn't good enough.

The Radford’s want promotion. It looks like we’re still going to have one of the biggest budgets in the league with lots of experienced pros so promotion is the aim. Simply, our best chance of promotion is adding to the already strong group with a handful of quality signings, and that seems to be the approach we are taking.

Getting promotion with the youth is obviously the ideal but it’s not realistic and we can’t keep harping on about the Lawrence, Baptiste etc. days thinking we can just do it again. If the youth players are truly good enough, they will find their way in to the team one way or another but if limited league opportunities for the youth are the trade off for another serious crack at going up then so be it.

They are making tonnes of big name player signings and the bookies will be all over them like they were with us.

I agree the the Radford's number one priority is promotion. If we keep trying to buy promotion our youth system won't flourish. The likes of Lawrence, Disley and Williamson came to prominence because we didn't have the resources to buy success. I do understand that our youth system is still developing but I think two or three products of the youth team should be involved more with the first team. One way to do it is give them a go in times of injury or suspension instead of loan signings.

He scored 2 in the Championship. If he still has it he's way above this level, but he has and does have problem with injuries.

Bradford will def be up in the top 3 my guess, too big a club for League 2 status.

All four relegated teams have excellent managers for this level.

I am thinking the bigger money went into the strikers which we all think it should have done and the defence can survive without big spending on it.

Grimsby sign another striker, making it three so far this transfer window. Moses Ogbu, had been playing in Sweden.
