Clubs like Ilkeston are on our doorstep so it's a shame when a player slips through the net like that and goes on to have a very good career when we could (and should) have made moves for him.

As evidenced by Keaton Ward's imminent departure, Championship clubs could still come to us and take our players of us, so it's all ifs but and maybes. The one we really should've signed years ago was Aden Flint who we played against for Alfreton on a number of occasions.

It's not money. I highly doubt Plymouth offered him more money than Ipswich. Its familiarity that has done it for Plymouth. Be interested to know if we enquired. We still need at least one more creative player IMO to supply Cook and Maynard.
